London Patriots Fans

The UKPatriots have a few members gathering at the Sports Bar & Grill in Marylebone, London for the game. We'll be there around 9ish for the San Fran game and some food before the Pats game.

We'll be calling into the Pre Game Social too which I confirmed with Matt LaPan (one of the producers) so it'll be good if we can get a base for Pats fans in London going for this game!

Good one It specialises in BBQ style foods so it's all burgers, ribs,. steaks, wings etc....so just regular game day food!

There is a 24 hour license available in the UK for a premises to sell alcohol....so now it's possible for American themed bars and restaurants to do stuff like this. They have an extended license which means they can sell alcohol whenever they like...so thy're staying open for the whole occasion.

A few years ago it wouldn't have been possible...or at least possible for them to stay open and sell alcohol...they would have had to sell soft drinks

I'm from Spain but I went there one week ago. I enjoyed the rose bowl there, nice place.

I was a student in London 1983-1984, which also happened to be the first year that Channel 4 showed a Super Bowl game live. I watched the game from the student dorm "pub" just across the street from the Telegraph Tower.

It was the Oakland Raiders vs. the Washington Redskins. Someone managed to find a case of good olde Budweiser, not for the flavor (there is none) but for the nostalgia. We finished that up quickly, then moved on to better-tasting English beers.

I remember explaining the rules of football to countless British friends, most of whom said the following. "Bloody hell...it just looks to me like these big guys line up, then fall down, and then go and talk about."

I explained that they actually talked about falling down first, then lined up and then fell down.

That cleared things up.

Interesting. I live in Wimbledon, never see any NFL fans around here let alone Pats fans. I would have come tonight but am already watching the games round a mates house.
