If this were pre-trading deadline I'd think that any smart team would claim him and see if they can get a draft pick from the Pats in return, but that's not going to happen now.

If this were pre-trading deadline, Moss would not be subject to waivers.

Well, I was listening to the radio, and they said it was about $6 million (Ordway's reporting it at $6.4 million). I'm not doubting you, just noting the discrepancy. $3 million would certainly be more palatable to a team like the Chiefs, who could really use Moss as a replacement for Chambers if they could feel confident that he'd give them his "A" game.

The 6.4 Million was Moss' salary for this season. As you know, the salary is divided into 17 checks. That works out to a bit over 394K a check for Moss. Or, about 3.5 million with 9 checks remaining.

P.S. It's Ordway.. You think he get's his facts right?? I took my number from Miguel's site..

moss ends up in ind.... Learns the offense....gives a looney toon presser....talks about piped in noise, manning teabagging trainers, polian as a crazed megalamaniac....gets waived....back to the pats with the colts playbook.
Bb plays chess while the vikings and colts play pick up sticks.

But..but...Childress is ALWAYS pulling things over on Belichick! He said so!

IMO there's no chance he gets to the Patriots on a waiver claim, the Jets at least would put in a higher claim just to keep that from happening. It will be mighty interesting to see how this plays out.

Anyone still think we got jobbed on the Moss trade?

If you're a GM for a playoff contending team, do you pass on Moss and let the Pats get stronger at WR?

Or do you put a claim in on Moss and relegate him to a DNP status just to keep him away from the Patriots (chances are they wouldn't have to go the DNP route but even so... just to illustrate a point, it's not just about making YOUR team stronger for the remainder of the season... the priority could be preventing the Patriots from having a deep threat)

My feeling stands though... Belichick decided that Moss was more trouble than he was worth. His tirade against Childress affirmed that as a correct decision... Moss would REALLY have to convince Belichick he could keep his mouth shut for the remainder of the season to even earn consideration.

Actually I don't think that's out of the question - Moss has already hurt his own market value - he can partially restore it by being a good boy for the rest of the season - but I just don't see the Jets or the Colts or a whole list of other teams letting him drop to the Patriots.

But can he ask for so much money that theyhave to pass?
