Packers rumored to be shopping WR Randall Cobb

I don't think it'll happen with NE with his salary and BB's recent comments about trading with a team on the schedule but interesting nonetheless.

According to Mike Lombardi of The Ringer, the Packers might be looking to move Cobb, the veteran slot receiver who is entering the final year of his four-year, $40 million deal.

“I know (Cobb’s) being shopped around,” Lombardi said on his podcast, GM Street, via Rotoworld Football.

Also rumors they are not shopping him

At any rate, they need him but not sure the price tag justifies how many throws will come his way.

There is some fat on this roster with Allen and Gil.

Did you watch Dez play the last couple of years?
I know how physically talented Dez is and he hasnt been coached By any good offensive coaches.
Can you really say with a straight face he can't up his game with BB and Josh coaching him.

Did you watch Moss play in Oakland before he was traded to NE? And that was without any injuries. People underestimate the value of the actual "QB throwing to the WR" connection

Cobbs numbers last year (700 yards, 4 TDs) not great but that was with Brett Hundley for most of the year. Dez is older and a malcontent. Cobb would be an intriguing addition if he were willing to renogotiate his contract (if GB releases him).

Cobb hasn’t had a 1000 yard season since 2014. Last two years have been iffy. Making 8 million.

Dez Bryant hasn't looked good and has been injured. He is a receiver who relies on his physical skills rather than his route running and brains. I agree you need a qb to get you the ball, but at some point the ship has sailed on a player, especially one who is numb as a stump.

Randy Moss Oakland 16 games 60 catches 1005 yds
13 games 42 catches 553 yds
Dez Bryant 13 games 50 catches 796 yds
16 games 69 catches 838 yds
Randall Cobb 13 games 60 catches 610 yds
15 games 66 catches 655 yds

If the Packers are really shopping Randall Cobb he would fill some desperate Patriots NEEDS he also Return Punts.

I would rather have Dez for vet minimum then Cobb at $8million

Once Moss came to NE, those numbers went up. At this point of the season, while learning on the fly, he'll just be a possession receiver. Which we need help at

Why would Green Bay weaken their WR group to an even weaker group? They'd be worse than NE. I agree Cobb is nothing special but get a damn replacement first.
