Sure, but will he last beyond that?
He keeps Amendola is my guess. Imagine how helpful he would have been on Sunday when Edelman was the only one catching passes.
I love Danny and selfishly want him cut so he can come back but he will turn 34 during the upcoming season. He’s due 6 mill next year and has no cap hit if they cut him in a couple weeks. Unless they love what he brings from a leadership standpoint I’d assume he’s gone.
5 year contract
but, indeed, a very flaky owner
so it's a gamble
Well that's at least better than Eugene Robinson, who got arrested the night before the Super Bowl for soliciting a prostitute (hours after being named the NFL Man of the Year)
Tiquan Underwood was already a coach last year and was a guest at Patriots training camp. I wish him luck in Miami.
After getting the team logo cut into his haircut IIRC.
Hiring him on the coaching staff is a step toward importing staff with first-hand knowledge of the Patriot Way. Not a bad move by Flo.
Just because the guy wasn’t a great player does not mean he won’t be a solid coach
Disclaimer: I think Flores will be a good head coach. But even he may not be enough to overcome a clueless owner, no Quarterback, and a bad defense.
Reporter:"Bill are you worried about the Dolphins possibly competing in the division anytime soon?"
I'm with you. $6 Million is a lot for a guy who'll turn 34 during the next season and who put up fairly pedestrian numbers last year (59 receptions for 575 Yards & 1 TD in 15 games). If I were the Dolphins, I'd let him go.
It seems to me those laughing at this move by Flo are trying to advertise they are D-Bags
Yeah, I agree. Bringing in another guy with institutional knowledge of how things work in Foxboro seems pretty smart to me. Worked for Matty P and Vrabel this year. The Phins play the Pats twice a year. The Miami away game is always a challenge. This just makes it more difficult. The margin is so small between the haves and have nots. The Pats will need to play their best to beat Miami next year. No, I am not kidding.
I can see them going after Foles
I think we might have a coach on staff that might meet that description. Not sure, but his initials may be B and...uhhhh...B.
And hopefully we’ll beat their a$$es next year to put this “Nick Foles owns NE” thing to rest...
Sorry I hadn't heard of this job and made the mistake of trying to be funny about it. You can all go back to being better than me now.
(this is also a joke).
I’d heard of it as the entry level job for various guys who are now head coaches. Just googled it, found that the first QC coach was Jon Gruden, working for Mike Holmgren when he was OC for the Niners in 1990.
The Role of an NFL Quality Control Coach
No, they're going after Lawrence.
Wouldn't be surprised if Matt Moore is the starter this year.
Trust me, I’ve never laughed at anything to do with Miami. Or Ohio, god bless us and Stone the crows
Amendola was their leading receiver last year with 59 receptions.. he also had the most receiving yards, only one TD...
Frank Gore was 35 years old last year and was their best RB...
Brian Flores has dome very difficult decisions to make regarding the future of this team and make take at least two years before there will be notice of a significant turnaround..
Weather in Miami is their 12th man...
