I think it's also very possible to see the Pats playing in the AFC Championship Game.
We would have to be NYG lucky to do well in these playoffs.
McCourty is injured and has somewhat regressed.
Plus all the inexperience in the side.
That being said, with each game their experience doubles, triple then quadruples.
someone needs a math lesson. But I agree with you, there is no telling what happens in the playoffs. I say just get in and hope for the best. It seems like the Patriots do better in the playoffs when their season is filled with adversity. Both seasons the Patriots had no real adversity ( last year and the infamous " O7" year, the patriots had no reg. season adversity and choked. I think the same can be said about just about any superbowl winner in the past 5 years
If Schaub is done for the year, you can scratch them off the list.
And count me as someone who is not overly convinced that their 32nd ranked pass defense is suddenly 2nd in the league. Look, they haven't had to play Peyton Manning twice this year. Brees absolutely lit them up and Roethlisberger is the only other half-decent QB they've faced.
The Ravens suck every other week. I would not be as scared of facing them as in year's past. Truth is, Flacco - like Sanchez - has not progressed, and key components on that defense are aging.
Steelers - as bad as they beat us in the regular season, we still have had a lot of success against them over the years, so I'm not going to shy away from that one.
Green Bay has a terrible pass defense and an offense that has yet to be tested by even a mediocre defense.
Giants scare me, yes. But it took a freak show final drive for them to beat us, as it did in SB42, and if that happens again, well that's just not something anyone can control.
This is as wide open a league as I can remember in the NFL. Pats are elite in the two most important positions - coach and QB. We have as good a chance as anybody. Just relax and enjoy the ride. I have a feeling we will go deeper into this postseason than most are assuming.
Of course this is a SB team.......
Green Bay would probably slaughter us in the Bowl, but maybe somebody can do the dirty work for us.
As far as I am concerned the AFC is wide open.
Flacco s#cks.
I would like are odds in a matchup with Pitt.
Houston is playing with it's backup QB.
The West is a mess, Oakland is the class of that division.
Mark Sanchez...........
I like our chances, allot.....
Realistically? No, the 9-0 Packers have to win the SB because they are the 9-0 Packers, they won last year so they will win every year.
In the AFC we have to lose to the Jets because we did last year, if not then BAL because we did in 09, or PIT because we did three weeks ago. That is the logic respectable football fans across America are now using, and it seems to be unquestionable, it is somehow a fact we can't avoid.
There are 31 teams that can bounce back from a playoff losing streak, 31 teams that can get hot in the playoffs, New England isn't one of those 31 teams, that is a fact, if we question that fact we are homers, and idiots.
We will have huge problems with Baltimore, Houston, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Giants and a few other teams.
I thought our team had a special quality to it last year. Maybe it was all the rookies. Maybe it was the emergence of Woodhead and the return of Branch. Who knows. I thought we had a good chance last year. But this year? Nahhh.
Does anyone here really think we have a SuperBowl team?
