Tate looked fantastic in preseason, and has shined every moment he has been on the field so far this season.

Perhaps the coaching staff has seen something special in him, and believe that he could be as good or better as the aging Moss.

So starts the Brandon Tate era!

He hasnt even surpased in games Bethel Johnson and Chad Jackson. This guy has no knees.

Brandon Tate, please stand up

Looks like he will be the Pats new deep threat. I wonder how this will change the offense, as teams will likely not double team him like they did Moss. One-on-one coverage may actually open up the deep ball a bit more for Brady.

Stop chugging koolaid. The guy hasn't looked anything special in the receiving game.

Re: Brandon Tate, please stand up

Tate always had single coverage because they mostly doubled Moss. If you always had an extra guy on 1 player and now you dont need that, how does it make other players be more open?

He didn't say it would open up other players...he said it may open the deep ball (for Tate) if he's only covered one-on-one.

Re: Brandon Tate, please stand up

Now they can double Wes and have no need to use a LB on a TE .

Aaron and wes will be doubled every down and they work in the underneath stuff these safety will be in the box against the RUN

Because single coverage is usually easier to beat than double :)

It'll be nice to have a receiver NOT double-teamed on a deep pattern for once.

Gotta be high on Tate, not in a Moss sort of way, but maybe a Givens type. I was worried when he got that dumb penalty v the Jets and then the fumble against Buffalo, so Monday night was good to see. Long way to go prove himself fully, but he'll sure get the chance.

I'm also curious to see if Price gets some game-day activation; he fell behind in camp b/c of school obligations, and maybe he's catching on.

The reason why haven't seen much of Tate is with Moss in the game he is redundant. Same reason why we haven't seen much of Edelman since Welker came back.

Obviously BB has seen enough of Tate in practice to feel comfortable using him as the #1.

Moss and Tate are redundant?

Two WRs on the outside is now a redundant concept?

Three WRs with one in the slot, effectively taking the place of a FB, is not done either?

What about no RB, 2 TEs and 3 WRs? One TE stays in to block? Is that done?

I can't imagine that Moss was traded because of Brandon Tate (any more than Maroney was traded because of Green-Ellis). Every sign, every rumor, every logical conclusion I can come to is that Randy's presence was no longer, on balance, benefiting the team. And most of that came in ways we couldn't see and may never know about.

That said, Welker, Tate, Edelman, Price, Hernandez, Gronkowski, Crumpler ain't chopped liver. This is NOT the 2006 roster redux.

Great but comes from a absolutely horrible injury, a deep threat with 4 games and 9 catches, a exqb, 0 snaps, 20 years old with lack of experience, a best suited for block and endzone TE and a 34 Years old TE who rarely goes to catch, its like a 6th# man of the OLine
