LA-Boston In Baseball, Then Football

I don't feel very confident putting either the Pats or the Rams in the Super Bowl yet. They look like the 2 best teams, but of all the sports, the best team probably wins the least in football.

Boston pro sport fandom sure is a remarkable privilege. The repeated success, the quality of organizations, the intelligence (relative to other cities) of the fans, supported by metropolitan area that is #24 in the US in population - there's never been anything like it. Imagine if any comparable metro area won a championship every 2-3 years, across four sports, for a couple of decades. - think Nashville, El Paso, Oklahoma City as comparables. What an amazing thing that's been built and sustained.

If it’s meant to be... I want the Rams to be 18-0 entering the game. Give us a chance to erase the stigma of what happened 11 seasons ago.

now if we could only get the sports talk media to stop being such whiney contrarian ****tards.

Possibly could see Lebron's Lakers vs Celtics not too soon too but not this year.

so...what would be the likelihood of a single city having the champions for each of the main 4 sports? (in the same year?)

red sox are in WS
we know what the pats are
Boston should be winning the east and making the finals
the only question would be the bruins

Hard enough to win them nevermind line them all up. Bruins and Celts already onto next year. But I'll still take all 4 if we can please.

What a story it would be... Brady full circle back to win a title vs Rams. :)

He would HAVE to retire afterwards just to maximize the value of the movie rights of his career.

Great post.

It DOES boggle the mind when you look at the landscape of professional sports and look at what the Boston sports fan has to revel in. The Celtics are poised to bring us several years of excitement with that roster. The Red Sox will always be "in the picture" . The Bruins look like the "runt of the litter", but the playoffs are a lock. There are some towns who would think THAT is a wonderful outcome. And finally the Pats. Just about the only team in professional sports who would be a favorite against a 5-0 team when you are sporting a 3-2 record....and WIN the game.

The last 20 years have been more than special for Boston sports fans. No other city comes close to what we've had. My mind always comes back to the T-shirt some kid had during the last parade. IIRC it read something like "12 years old and 9 parades" It is freakin' ridiculous. AND show no sign of slowing down in the near future.

Looking like it!
Been there, done that ... sort of. Actually, I wouldn't be too confident with this team vs. the Rams but who knows what things will look like in three months.

Or...have no one turn them on, except the fans that are whiney contrarian ****tards.

The power to change the tone of the media is entirely in the hands of the fans.
