Sending his team to China during preseason?
Letting the Red Chinese promote their Olympics at half time?
Letting soccer games chew up his field?
Letting important Free agents escape for bigger checks?
Guilting players that stay to play for less than market rates?
Juniot Seau? Caldwell? the big free agent aquisitions?
$15 million under the cap?
Highest ticket prices in NFL?
Parking $40-$50?
Jamming in luxory boxes and corporate seats at the expense of stadium noise.
Relegating real Pats fans to the nose bleeds 400 feet away from the grass?

Business is good in Foxboro, but is it at the expense of the team?

Talk about leaping off of the bandwagon a soon as the first bump in the road is experienced?

You sir define "fair weather" fan.

I'll be here in Dec. - the only way you will be , evidently, is if they are winning (which i happen to believe they will be).

Just stating facts. He charges the most and spends less on the players than most others. Win or lose, these are the facts. What I didn't include is pure speculation that the high cost of building Gillette may be affecting the teams payroll...who knows?

I think the stadium and the Krafts are all just fine. the team will be as well, just as it was in 2003 & 2004 and was one bad came of a three peat in 2005.

When you know the facts about how the Patriots spend their money on their players, and how it really is fair to the majority of the players - come talk to me.

Your right. I will be here in December as well, but as of right now the Pats aren't a contender right now. Despite the two mess ups on defense by Ellis Hobbs, Asante Samuel and James Sanders, the defense played good enough to win. However, the offense looked like **** all game. They had plenty of chances to put points on the board.....oh I forgot the Pats don't have any threats for recievers to score points. The Pats have the most money under the cap in the league and the give Tom Brady Reche Caldwell and Troy Brown as your starting recievers. Good job front office, you hit a goldmine again! First you sign Donald Hayes, Duane Starks, Chad Brown and Reche Caldwell! Damn this front office is on a roll for free agency. However, I really like their draft and that deserves an A+.

Whoa easy on getting personal...

But dude.....nobody's "sending the team to China" except the league. You think Kraft chose that? Really? Yeah.....I'm sure he volunteered the Pats to fly some 5,000 miles in the preseason. Give me a break.

As far as Kraft being all about the money....the team is doing business the way the team has done business the entire BB era. Its worked so far and I expect it to continue to do so.

Just stating the facts? I think you left out the fact that Kraft personally financed the stadium. You conveniently left out the fact that the Patriots have spent to the salary cap limit every year for I don't know how long. By the way, we don't know how the Patriots will finish this year, but I continue to expect that it will be the same as every other year. But no one really knows - the *facts* aren't yet in.

It's true that Kraft is a visionary and believes that the China market would be a good place for the NFL to tap into. Everyone seems to complain that the pre-season is too long, yet the immediate concern of a pre-season game in China is that we'll be behind in our preprarations compared with other teams. Well, which is it?

Bob Kraft has proven to be a fine owner who cares about lots of things including the fan experience, making money and developing a winner. The fact that he has succeeded in all these areas is cause for rejoicing, not nitpicking.

Kraft himself said the reason they are so much money under cap is because they had that money set aside as part of the negotiations for Branch and Law. He said the money is there to be spent.

As Kraft said himself, his paper business is the the biggest exporter to China of any New England business and the Pats were the first NFL team to open a Chinese web site. Of course he volunteered his team. As a paper reported, the Pats were one a handful of teams that wanted to be included. And you think Seattle was a coincidence too.Second largest port to receive Chinese goods behind LA (no team. By the way, flying to Beijing from Boston is 7000 miles if going over the arctic.) You are naive. I bet he already has Super Bowl rings all shined up for the commi leaders.
And the point about private financing...geez you think he has a larger debt service than other teams...maybe needs to spend less . And finally. "The extra money was saved for Branch"...They wanted Branch so bad they let him negotiate with other Teams. What else did you expect Jonathon to say, "We need the money"

That was the entirety of one of your posts on this thread.

I'm a third party in this discussion, but really, can't you bring more to the table than THAT?

I completely disagree with the thread originator also, but I've seen too many of your sophmoric posts that are really ESPN board material.

I can't wait to see your next post along the line of "Yeah, well, your mother does too!"

So they lose a football game and you've already queued up your complaints about the commies and the, oops. You think I'm naive?

You must be kidding. What century was it that you formed your opinions?

Kraft gives the FO free reign over how they spend the cap money. That's been the case since Belichick took over. Kraft would have to be six kinds of a fool to try to save a few million dollars in payroll when another couple of wins every season, boosting the Patriots from an average team to a perennial contender, will raise the franchise value by hundreds of millions of dollars.

Are you saying he's a fool? I didn't think so.

But you, sir, have revealed much about the way you think.

What if you are right? It's his business. He can do with it as he wants.
He can use it to promote other businesses. He can sell it if wants.

You say what about the Fans? Hey we got what most teams will never
have ... 3 Superbowls in 4 years. Even if this team is only a play off
contender from here on out ... we still had it good ... and we will see many
good games in the future.

So I guess I'm saying ... if you are right ... so what. We can't change it.
As BB would say ... it is what it is. Hey Bob ... thanks for the memories.
