i seriously doubt the patriots franchise mankins because he wouldent be paid the average of the 5 top guard, he would be paid the average of the average of the top 5 OFFENSIVE LINEMEN, and this includes tackles. his average salary would be around 12-14 million, and as a previous poster said, 14 million in dead money if mankins decides to be difficult again can really hurt your team in not just this season, but any contracts you intended to negotiate with players beginning in this year, it would be better to not have mankins at all and be able to spend the money.

the patriots have to offer mankins a deal and he has to accept it, imo that is the only way we ever see mankins in a patriots uniform next season.
