Kraft acknowledges drafting woes, says approach is changing

There was nothing wrong with the 2020 draft.
I think so as well, I liked the draft. I hope Jennings and Uche take a jump to become "situational specialists". Onwenu starting O-Line, Herron good Swing OT, maybe Keene/asiasi at some point TE N.2/3 or flex FB in Keene's case. Only bad pick was JR as it looks right now.

I doubt Kraft is terribly concerned about all of the 2020 draft when referencing their lackluster picks.

Dugger showed promise and physically looked like he belonged. Uche flashed. Onwenu was phenomenal.

The changes Kraft is referencing, if I had to guess, will involve more of a “identify ‘x’ number of sure-fire picks and (without selling the farm) make the necessary moves to acquire said players”, similar to the approach during the Jones/Hightower draft.

I would love to know the changes to the procedures, as I am sure you all would as well. I agree with @TheRainMaker. I would bet Kraft's involvement at this point is much more hands off than when he told Parcells to draft Terry Glenn.

We sure as hell don't want Bob Kraft meddling with the draft picks or the board. We already saw what happened when Parcells left and Kraft and Bobby Grier ran the draft. Meddling owners almost always screw up a franchise, just look at Dallas but that is not the worst example.

It is OK if Kraft demands that BB make a change as long as Kraft does not start making the picks. And we do not know what the source of the terrible drafting is, do we? Caserio? McDaniels? BB himself? I suspect McDaniels based on his apalling track record so I was none too happy to see McDaniels at the 'Bama pro day. He should be banned for life from ever being involved in the Patriots draft process; Nike could make better picks.

Dugger has the makings of a beast. Came on strong after Halloween
Uche was looking very good until he got hurt
Onwenu is Pro-Bowl potential
Herron looks like a solid reserve
Jennings is TBD. He got thrown to the wolves
Asiasi and and Keene are TBD.

Rule of thumb is if a team can land 2 starters and 2 reserves every draft then they are doing great.

If all 6 of those 10 picks improve more it'll be considered a VERY good draft.

Your evaluation of the other players chosen is lacking.
I know. That's why they went out and spent big in FA.

Dugger graded poorly in coverage according to PFF and is allergic to making a play.

Uche and Jennings didn't show much or else Judon wouldn't have gotten big bucks.

TE's....they're too easy.

The K got cut.

A C retired.

Herron and Maluia nothing are nothing special.

Mr Wolf? I thought it was Mr. White

please don't disrespect the famous Caserio/McDaniels evaluation formula :haha:

He is exactly the type of SS/LB hybrid you need in modern NFL i think. Him and Uche playing more on early downs could provide so much speed and sideline to sideline range which could make our run defense really well. Also both provide good third down options due to versality. Also usimg them as a SPY against running qb's is helpful or covering lot of ground

We need to find a way to use him more often imo.

If Jennings can become an early down edge run defender i am completely fine bc he looks like he can provide more pass rush and dropping there as other early edge defenders from last year
Asiasi and and Keene are TBD.
They should be better with better passing offense and learning from Henry and Smith imo

Oh, no way! There has been a ruggedly handsome gentleman with a robust 50+ thousands posts who has been saying this on here since late 2019 and pointing at Nick Caserio as the common denominator. Cant think of his name, though.
