Great Matchups in this game...can't wait!

Nick Hardwick vs. Vince Wilfork (HUGE MATCHUP!!! affects our running game)
LT vs. any double team (i think the charger win this because Gates has only single coverage)
Our entire secondary vs. Tom Brady (i think Tom Wins this one!)
Nate Keading vs. Bruce Gostawski (whoever wins this makes the game winning kick)

Who is Bruce Gostawski? There is no one by that name on the Pats roster. Did you get Stephen Gostkowski and Bruce Gradkowski (QB for the Bucs) mixed up?

Also, its going to be interesting to see if Gates can go since he missed practice yesterday.

In addition to "who accounts for LT when he lines up at receiver", is there anyway to anticipate if LT is going to throw?

Can anyone explain what happens on that one?

That was a *brutal* game the Chargers played last Sunday. Those 2 teams were kicking the cr@p out of each other. Gates in particular took a lot of hits. If the Pats LBs can pound him some more, I think they can take him completely out of the game. Stopping LT is going to be pretty hard. That a good OL he's running behind. Still if we can jump out ahead and make them throw the ball, I like our chances.

It is important to remember the physical game that the Chargers played last week and the fact that they are flying across the country for this game. Just a little something extra to swing this one towards the Pats.

I'm sure the team is looking for any pre-snap cue to let them know if LT has the option to throw.

Just taking a clue from last year's game, I think the OLBs sealing the edge against the run, regardless of who is running the ball will be key. Tully Banta-Cain had a terrible time doing that last year. This year with both Vrabel and Colvin working the outside on 1 & 2nd down, it seems that the Patriots could have a lot more success. LT did not look very impressive last week with inside runs, but the D-line needs to dominate as well. It will be very tough in the trenches on Sunday evening.

It would seem to me the best way to prevent Tomlinson from throwing an interception would be to play some disciplined ball. Don't break off your guy until you know Tomlinson is beyond the LOS. This may allow him to get a few yards on the ground, but it'll prevent the score.

I'm probably wrong with this, but it seems that Antonio Gates is LT's usual target on the halfback option pass. Does anyone else know if that's the case?

I think he has thrown to several others but Gates is SD primary receiver as a TE.

hahha yup sorry about that..... got the names wayyyyy mixed up!

Yeah it should be very interesting to see if gates is ready for the game. Kinda weird he all of the sudden wakes up with back spasms or sornes or whatever..... LOL maybe he is trying to play possum??????

The problem is if you hesitate wuth a guy like LT you are at a big disadvantage. He is almost too good to hesitate you just have to react!!!

He has thrown touchdown passes to eric parker, antonio gates, drew bress, and keenan mcarddel.

The main reason why LT struggled last week is the bears just stacked 7-8 even 9 guys in the box on certain plays...not to mention LT didn't handle one snap in preseason wasn't helping either! Expect a little, yes a little better performance from him this week. my guess is 65- 90 yards rushing and probably about 25-50 yards recieving with maybe one touchdown. but no matter what your team is he is always fun to watch!!!
