I had to go read up on him a little and it seems he's more of a Bobby Hamilton type than a John Randell. At 6-4 he's probably too tall to be a back up to Vince at NT even if he can add the bulk.

You might want to watch a little video on him. He plays with great leverage and is persistent. I don't see him as an every down NT. I see him as a change-of-pace on the DL, particularly when Wilfork may be gassed after a no-huddle series. His strength is collapsing the pocket and disrupting the backfield. He didn't do a great job controlling the run (though he did better late in the year) so I wouldn't trust him with gap control unless/until he shows significant improvement.

He seems out of place on the Pats when you look at what he doesn't do well. Seems a little more reasonable when you focus on what he DOES do well.

whey is ever one down on him i think he looked good to me i think its just that all pats funs are redsox funs so every thing is gloom and doom he will back up willfork and and be a good player just wach ps go soxs lol
