Just Met Bill Parcells

I went to get a shoe repaired this morning in Stuart Fl and a gentleman walk in and said he was waiting to pick up his shoes. The lady asked the name, he said Bill Parcells. Holy poop, I turned and said Tuna? He said the name helps him in restaurants. Lol. I told him thanks for what he did for the Patriots in our dire citation back then. Lifelong fan and told him he should be in the Patriots hall of fame. Made my day, he's very old but he appears to be appreciative. My brush with greatness.

I met him at Saratoga a few years ago. He was very nice and even gave us a tip on one of his horses running that day. The horse won!

You should've asked if those were Bill Belichick's shoes he planned to walk in. I wonder if the Pats hall of fame is a minor sore spot for him.

In an alternate universe, I think the Pats would've had a small window to either take out the Broncos or get back to the Super Bowl by 1999 had the band stayed together.

Some younger fans on here don't realize how loaded the late 90's Pats team was, but major injuries and poor management derailed those teams.

Personally I think it was more management than injury. Those times were way more frustrating for me, and I watched the Eason debacle.

Injuries were overlooked. In 1997, Martin, Glenn, Gash and McGinest. They are easily in the AFCCG had they been healthy. Bledsoe, McGinest in 1998. Robert Edwards and Ted Johnson in 1999. There's probably others I'm forgetting. This was an era where most teams would get exploited if they had any major injuries.

The management on the other hand, was also horrendous.

He met him at the cobbler in between picking up a phosphate at the drugstore and meeting his sweetheart for a malt at the diner!
