Best data resource I've ever had for the NFL. Highly recommend it. Don't necessarily agree with their conclusions and predictions, but the raw information is astounding, especially on defensive players, something largely ignored throughout football history. One criticism: the method they use for ranking what they describe as the "best 100 seasons by a running back ever" is dubious. If they had relied on common sense, suggesting that the Colts' Tom Matte's 1969 campaign, in which he rushed for 909 yards at a 3.9 clip, was the #24 season by a running back, ahead of any season by Eric ****erson or L. Tomlinson, should have alerted them to a glitch in their system, and the need for revision. However, I love their contention that Cliff Branch, Harold Carmichael et. al. are being shafted by the HOF due to widespread misunderstanding of how the passing game has transformed since the rule revisions in the late 70s. All HOF electors should read that article and educate themselves. This book can be a weekly reference and even a collector's item, like the little NFL books I used to buy as a kid in the early to mid 80s. A great resource for the degenerate gambler as well.
