Patriots Player Departure Josh Gordon Stepping Away?

Show me that TD/drop passes ratio from Sunday's game @ Pittsburgh. Also show me those obscure clutch stats from that game as well.

It boggles my mind that there are people who still believe letting Amendola walk away was the right decision, especially in the predicament the Pats' offense has been all season long.

Look at the cost.. there was not a chance that the pats would of paid him the money that Miami did

I'm looking at this glass half full so just hear me out. We have criticized Brady this season for focusing too hard on a single target this season (specifically Josh Gordon). Losing him does diminish our offense from a depth/talent point of view but could this help Tom to start spreading the ball to not the best receiver but the open receiver?

Well see this Sunday
he targeted josh like twice on sunday lol. that wasn't the problem

Edelman's catch rate and TDs are exceeding what he did in 2016 ... in spite of the "continuous drops".

I really wish folks would check the stats at least once in awhile before making judgments.

actually, sorry man.

in 2016, edelman had 5 drops on 159 targets

in 2018, edelman has 8 drops in 92 targets....

he is dropping passes at a much higher reate. he leads the league in dropped passes this year.

drop passes is not an exclusive inverse of catch rate

also his 2016 catch rate was 61.6%, and its 68.5% so far this year (fixed per maineman)

**** of the day.. the winner is you

There seems to be plenty of competition for today's award. I can only marvel at how very nice it must be to be them, never to have seen a coworker or loved one struggle with mental health and/or addiction issues must be a real blessing.

I want what he's having
If you guys don't believe Brady can get back to a short passing attack with Edelman White and Burkhead. And have Hogan/Patterson stretch field while Gronk fills the middle. If you don't think he can have success with that formula then I don't know what you've been watching for 15 years.

Yeah, it's always weed, smdh. Per the CBA the league and the union are bound to strict confidentiality. When it comes to the substance involved so the only word we get of what substance a player got popped for is the player, his agent or media speculation so naturally the substance is weed, because no one gets excited about weed. Think about it, a player gets popped for weed everybody just shakes there head but let that same player get popped for crack and the fans would lose their ish with him.

I thought the "rule about the agent getting to describe the infraction" had to do with the Performance Enhancing Drugs suspensions (hence everyone gets popped for Adderall).

Does that rule apply to Substances of Abuse as well?

As for your point about "no one gets excited about weed".....you serious Clark? Have you read this thread or the mega one when the Pats traded for him?

Weed is the Debil to quite a few people here.

I hope the Patriots continue to support him and maybe he is back next year or after but I wouldn't rely on him on nothing more than a 4th WR option.
Obviously not due to talent but he can't be relied upon.
Patriots need to draft boyscouts at receiver to avoid this in the future.
Guys with the attitude of Matt Slater and yes Danny Etling who was a boyscout doesn't grow on trees.
You can't rely on Josh Gordon period. Hes trying to make the best decisions he can for his health and its clear he believes football interferes with that objective.

Maybe one day he can completely manage his addictions and play football but right now? Nope.

I feel terrible about this development. Best of luck to you, Josh. I hope you can beat the demons. Godspeed.

Ok, and I'm goin' to go out on a limb and say . . . as tough as it seems . . . the Pats' season ain't over 'til it's over.

It's over. It was over with Gordon.

The Browns have been through this time and time again. They always stood by their Josh until the final straw this preseason.

After having all off season to get ready for training camp, Josh Gordon announced days before camp that he was ...stepping away from the game to work on himself. I mean, what kind of heartless person would not have the Kleenex out? Life is not fair.

You have this juvenile idiot and then you have the real men like Eric Berry and Marcus Cannon fighting cancer just to get well and play in the NFL. God bless them. I fully support those guys and the idiot with the self inflicted gun shot wound.

The player (or his agent as authorised) is the only one that can legally disclose the substance. As for no one getting excited about weed, I was referring to it's use. Everyone and his brother gets excited about someone getting suspended for it though, whether or not that was really the substance

I am hopeful of this but Pitt took that all away you need someone to take coverage out of the Middle Hogan Patterson you want to get paid Dorsett you want to prove your not a bust here's huge opportunity for your.
McDaniels you want to prove your a offensive genius and should be In charge of Packers Browns or others here's your chance.
If this team wins a playoff game I'd be ok with that.
