Jonas Gray has good attitude about sitting out

At least publicly, he handled it exactly the way he should have, which is nice. He sure didn't look happy on the sideline. Hoping he uses it to motivate himself, not to become a crybaby. Article suggests he's handling it well (though obviously privately we have no clue what he's thinking):

"I'm glad we got the team win. I think it would have stung more if I didn't play and we lost the game but I'm happy for these guys. I just wish I was able to contribute to the win but I was glad that we came away with the victory and these guys played great."

Gray would not "confirm or deny" that Sunday's DNP was the result of disciplinary action for being late Friday.

Moss and Reevis were disciplined and moved on. Big Sey never got over being disciplined and moved on...to another team. It's probably good that gray got to see that discipline applied to everyone. I think he will handle this as Reevis did and we will have a dynamic duo in the backfield for the tournament.

Wonder if, after a third tardiness by a player to practice this year (that we know of), the coaching staff felt like they needed to make an example of someone -- and who better than a rookie RB (whose head might have been getting a little big after a SI cover) during a week that featured the passing game.

BB unecessarily and very publicly screwed with Ridley's head about the fumbles. Right up until his ACL, Ridley was never the same runner - - yes, he didn't fumble, but he no longer was a deep gain threat either. He ran scared.

Gray got the message with the public leaking of being sent home from practice (which is a discretionary thing - - Reis today intimated that Ayers had the same thing and it wasn't made public - - and he wasn't benched the next game - - neither was Revis).

I'll never forgive BB for the way he treated Seymour when the kid's grandmother (who practically raised him) died.

So now, BB is holding Blount up to be a paragon of virtue and this kid up to be the miscreant? That's an irony. BB is a great coach, but sometimes one has to shake one's head at his actions.

This is Gray's 3rd year in the league. He went to college. Hes 24 years old. The Pats are a strict environment. We'll see if he "gets it".

I'd guess someone explained this to Gray that this is Belichick effectively saying "you could be great if you can focus - and let this be a reminder to you" - and it sounds like he's taking the lesson the right way

Best not to assume you know what has happened inside the building.

Has Gray been late, but unnoticed by the media, when on the Practice Squad ?

Did BB not appreciate his deleted tweets post incident ?

Has there been any attitude issues in meetings ?

We don't know the answer to these or other similar questions. Since we have no actual idea it's probably best to defer to the person who does. It's possible BB was wrong but we don't have the facts to know.

Most likely it's a matter of a rookie vs. a veteran needing to learn different lessons. No different than with kids, judgement and punishment can be very different based on history, age and experience.
