If we're not gonna play him at QB, I kinda like the idea of Milton's potential in the WR position. I know some are already penciling him in as a TE but I'm not sure he quite has the physicality for that, he's got the size but I'm not sure he's got the mindset. but he definitely has the athletics and speed to make an intriguing project at WR and as a WR, his size and strength would allow him to stand out a bit more..

Just a mostly crazy thought

Will be one of the interesting players to watch during camp etc as to what they try to do with him.

We'll get an early signal if they intend to try Milton at WR, if they send him out to return punts in TC. That's traditionally how the team has broken in new wideouts.

He said he's not changing positions. We'll see.

Oh we'll definitely see about that. Milton's not gonna be happy at all with the playing time he gets as a 4th string QB. if he wants to make an impact on the field, he'll get over himself on that score pretty quickly. QBs selected in the 4th round don't tend to have a lot of agency in where they play, if they want to play at all.

He's a QB nuff said!

I'm all for bringing in a developmental prospect at QB... Hope he doesn't change position... Be a waste to give up on the potential of that arm...

I kinda like the can-do attitude, but seriously? ROFL. It would be a total waste of his athleticism and talent to let him rot as the 3rd string quarterback. Whatever development time we have for young quarterbacks is gonna be spent on Drake.

The kid can either get over himself, make himself useful as a WR, TE or special teams player, and go grab his bag, or he can wither on the vine at QB, rarely if ever sniff any playing time, and maybe not get a job after his current contract's over. Not much of a choice. He can have a preference but if he wants to get paid, he'll have to get himself on the field somehow.

He's an intriguing player. I could see keeping him as QB3 if he shows enough in preseason and cut Zappe

Also imagine having that arm on the field offensively for gadget plays. Milton in the wildcat, or on the flea flicker, would put defenses on high alert. Similar to Edelman's throws only with more raw talent behind them. You can put a guy like Milton in another position and still make use of his arm and unlike Madden, position changes are reversible if there happens to be a need.

He has no chance to play QB in real NFL games vs DBs who are all fast and good.

You dont use the 3rd pick in the draft for a QB with plans to use another guy as your franchise QB. The long bomb homerun pass is a low percentage completion rate pass. The Pats addressed WR, but they did not take a WR who is a matchup nightmare because of his size.

DK Metcalf is 6 - 4 235 lbs.
Travis Kelce Swift is listed at 6 - 5 250 lbs.
J Milton listed 6 - 5 235 lbs.

Jules Andelman was an athletic QB who converted. Not predicting that kind of success, but just saying look at the league and these big guys are winning.

Let me go on record and say Biscuit is not very good when we see what Maye and Milton brings to the table so long Biscuit. On Zappe I won't even waste the key strokes.

Can call him whatever they want. If he wants to be called a QB, fine. That doesn’t pigeon hole him into how the coaches line him up on the field, or where reps go just because of deviating from what a QB is thought to be. Out wide, in the slot, who knows. But sure, you can be a QB pal.

Right now, Jacoby Brissett is the best QB on this roster. Maye is an exciting prospect but he was literally just drafted. This is even more true for Milton.

I definitely want to see a few punt plays with Milton as the placeholder. If we can even get one successful fake punt out of him he'll have earned his draft slot.

He's really fast. Recorded at 21.3mph on a TD run which would be faster than any run by an NFL QB in the NextGenStats era, but I'd take that with a grain of salt. 19.44mph at the Senior Bowl with Zebra which is great considering didn't have any long runs.

He's a typical fast tall guy - takes a while to get to top speed - not that agile without too much shake and bake. He plows through people. Already has notable injuries from runs, including a knee injury scare last year. Completely understandable why he doesn't want to switch positions. I don't think he'd last long there.

Imho, he's gonna have a long career along the lines of a Tyrod Taylor (who still has notable long air yard throws in his mid 30s). It seems like he's a smart team first no drama kinda guy with high charisma and leadership skills. I predict he and Maye will get along very well.

Per Phil Simms: "...Read defenses, you know it wasn't like he looked at one guy. He could look to the right and find the guy coming in from the left side. He did all that, I thought, really well."

A QB who played at Michigan who got drafted in the 190s.

I guess he could be a TE, but does he have ANY experience blocking people? I know many TE's these days are iffy blockers, but they have to have some aptitude and willingness in that skill area, don't they?

I have no idea why they drafted him. Seems an odd thing to do for a team with so many identified needs.

Use him as tysom hill. Line him and the other rookie TE bloke in tight end formations and go crazy . We could be creative considering maye and Miltons arm. I feel with this combo probably thornton could have a breakout season.

QB at Michigan and at UT. Never played another position, at least not while he was at UT. Don’t think he’s going to change positions.

If he is cut, He will be the most sought after udfa QB and he will have his SB. He might cut his 1st year salary in 1/2, but the upside to being a qb in the league is certainly worth the shot. I think he will be ok with being the 4th string PS qb as a rookie. Next year he should be 3rd string. Hell, I want him to get the reps before Zappe in TC, We know what Zappe is after the last two years, He is not going to win you any games. In two years Milton might. Hell I rather see Rourke get reps before Zappe next summer.
