i agree that the pats need average, mistake free (not much turnover) qb play with a competent run game to be successfull because the defense playes good and usually special teams as well, but burrow can start another dynasty for 15 years imo.

I like him a lot too, I’d say the only strike against him now as a player is having the chance to go up 2 scores in the second half of the Super Bowl and punting 4 straight drives. To be a great you gotta get that done. Hopefully next time.

Average, mistake free QB play with a competent run game is what they had last year and they weren't exactly competitive in the literal definition of the term (competing for a title), even with the number 4 defense in the league by DVOA. It's not the 1980's, you need top tier QB play to consistently compete in the NFL. Sure, the Titans and 49ers of the world can go 12-5 and win a playoff game, but there comes a point in the playoffs where your QB will need to make plays against the best competition and if he can't you're toast.

With a good defense and good special teams a guy like Burrow makes you a contender, not a lock to win multiple titles. Pats fans have completely warped expectations over what it takes to win a Super Bowl. Aaron Rodgers has had a great defense for a while, didn't even make it back to the big game.
