I’m a fan of Vrabel & think he’ll be an upgrade over Mayo. However, early signs aren’t promising the Krafts learned their lesson. Their plan may be to hire Vrabel without an extensive search and keeping the front office intact. That’s not good enough.

We will see. I think they’ll talk to Vrabel first and then Ben Johnson. Then they’ll do some other interviews with guys like Brian Flores and some others. But I do kinda feel like if Ben Johnson says “I really want to come coach Maye and here’s my plan” and it blows them away, they’d certainly consider that.

The more I think about it, Gruden is the guy. I know he said some really ****ed up stuff over email but he’s a proven winner who can develop QBs. I don’t see how Kraft doesn’t at least ping him for an interview.
100 percent. And for the virtual signalers out there, get out of here with that ****. Chucky knows what's out there in the NFL stratosphere when it comes to ****ed up **** being sent around and is trying to expose it. Maybe not for the right reasons, but still. The NFL is pushing back for a reason.

Chucky is the man for the job. I doubt Kraft hires him, but he is the guy.

I am ok with Vrabel. I'm just iffy on first time head coaches. Feel like you're playing with fire. No college coaches either.

But I agree with it should be an exhausting search, been saying this since they announced Mayo as the coach. If for no other reason get an understanding of how other people see your organization and what their vision is for the future. This has been a completely wasted year that could of ended with a constellation prize but we managed to **** that up.

If, Wolf stays I hope it comes with a organizational restructuring and modernization as Breer mentioned. But at a minimum bring in an experienced football guy to at least put some guard rails around Wolf along with mentorship.

last GM in new england was patrick sullivan in 1990
Thanks for finding the date. I knew it was a long time since we had a GM, didn't know it has been 34 years!

side note - this is the Krafts saying they want to WIN, and they’ll spend cash to do it.

Bedard was on to something when he said that they may have treated this past year as a trial run for Mayo and limited the free agent spending just in case he didn’t work out - they’d still have a war chest of cap space to give to a more premium coach.

I'd sign on for this. And... @Ring 6 Andy bud, I'd happily be wrong.

Suddenly feel a lot better about today, although the dude really eff'd them by not getting the first overall pick. Dude is forever gonna be Rod Rust level suck.

Good Riddance.

Could be and Kraft apologized for the failings. I found that interesting.

That will depend on the coach they hired. If Vrabel and Johnson want their GM they will get it

If they don't fire the GM then they've solved nothing.

What are these ****ing guys doing?

I have seen people saying they want the football people making football decisions. At this point who is that? Robyn Glaser? Wolf?

He wasn’t going to do it right after the game. That’s the point. Jerod didn’t fellow the game plan and it’s not like Kraft could fire him during the game. Kraft fired him immediately out of rage.
There's no gameplan to tell Mayo if you are planning on firing him. If he's staying, you can maybe tell him "hey you are locked in here for next year, so the number 1 pick would be a big help to you". If he's leaving, you can't tell him to lose or you run into a Brian Flores situation where you have a disgruntled ex employee telling everyone the team was willingly tanking.

If you wanted to ensure the number 1 pick, you fire the coach before the last game and put in an interim to fill in and hope that causes enough of a mess to ensure a loss.

Anyways, it didn't matter. The Bills weren't trying to win and put Mike White out there when Trubisky was looking decent. They wanted to get some guys some incentives and leave unscathed.

Mayo cemented himself as a top 3 most hated individual by NE which is sad since many of us loved him as a player

Great News! A golden opportunity for a new staff!
