Bowe, his agent, Ethan Lock, and the Chiefs are in a tough position for a couple of other reasons, too. Bowe got drafted right after quarterback Brady Quinn, who for some reason wants to be paid like a top-10 pick. And the penny-pinching New England Patriots made the pick right after Bowe.

This guy never stops. From the entire Ty Law episode to his never-ending bashing of the Pats as cheap. Has this guy been paying attention to all the free agents signed this past winter??? f the Pats are so cheap, how come they signed their first round pick before about half of the the other teams???

I like Jason Whitlock for the most part because he is very unbiased with his columns. Unfortunatly, not everyone is going to jump on the Patriots bandwagon. Don't worry too much about it.

Hey, if my team were the Chiefs, with the loudest fans in the league, but having the worst work ethic, if I was saddled with Herm as head coach, I might be a little jealous of the Pats and Belichick, also. The difference is that I'm just jabbering to a bunch of other fans on the internet. Whitlock is publishing his jeasoly nationwide.

The reaction here is not the big deal you make it out to be, people are just noting what he said, as fans tend to talk about their team and how it is portrayed.

He may be a good writer, but having there is something here that is NOT correct.
Firstly, if he truly believes what he has written, that the team DOES pinch pennies, then that really shows he doesn't understand the game that he is writing about. The Patriots spend near to the cap every year, so if he truly beilieves that his knowledge can be questioned. he also will need to explain HOW the team is saving money MORE SO than other teams.
But I think more it is said in a sort of disgenuous snide way knowing it is not true. And it is here that the jealousy lies...and the way he wishes other teams to perceive the Patriots. If one tells a lie long enough and gets away with it..the longer it's not challenged..the MORE it keeps on going. But there's another point here. Knowing how this little statement is thrown in there as untrue, when I read his words in teh future and see some other little tidbit thrown in, what am I to think? Believeable or not?? Just another little jealousy thrown in??
Don't like it..shows weakness as a writer.

Exactly, he has either a failure of understanding or judgement which is damning for a supposed expert OR he's agenda driven to the point that he knowingly distorts the truth to accomplish some personal objective.

He wouldn't be the first journalist to do that. If memory serves me, there was a recent former Globe sports writer who was very talented but let his biases overwhelm his writing......
