Jarvis Moss: OLB?

Moss supposedly has a 42'' vertical in addition to being almost 6'7'' and running a 4.60. Negatives: he has an injury history due to a car crash his freshman year (hernia, infections etc.), and rumor has it his suspension for an "undisclosed reason" may have been for marijuana, though unconfirmed... If U. Meyer gives him the thumbs up to BB, than as a late 1st rdr he could be a steal.

Jarvis playing like a man possessed tonight vs. OSU!

Looks like a young Wille Mc!!

McDonald is tall and lean ..4.48 as a freshman and hasnt added that much weight..hes a legit OLB if he enters like rumored

I could be wrong, but isn't McDonald like 6'3'' 285? Are you thinking of sophomore Derrick Harvey? That guy is a sure 1st rd OLB in '08. He had 3 sacks tonight. 6'4'' 245 lbs.

****..i meant Moss is the "4.48" speed guy who hasnt gained much weight

sorry..confusion

Yep Moss has looked pretty great out there and we could definitely mold him. And quite honestly, I really don't see anyone else right now who is that appealing at that 24ish spot unless someone falls unexpectedly.

On Todd McShay's draft on ESPN he has us taking Moss. Then taking Samardzija. I doubt if we take the Domer. I think he will have trouble getting off of the line of scrimmage in the NFL. Why not D.Bowe the big kid from LSU? By the time he gets on a weight program in the NFL he's going to look like TO physically. Will give Brady someone to throw to on those inside slants. Troy can't play forever. Do we really trust Ben Watson anymore?

Didn't Mincey play in front of Moss last year???? Hard to imagine Moss succeeding where Mincey couldn't.

Depending on how he runs MKristo Bruce of WSU might be a good fit at OLB. He's 6'6" and 255 and has excellent pass rush skills.

Accordingto GBN he is coming out, along with Reche little brother....

January 10
(1:00 PM): Gator DE said to be close to going pro… Sources at Florida are reporting that junior DE Jarvis Moss may have played his last game with the national champion Gators. After Florida's 41-14 win over Ohio State in the BCS title game Monday night, Moss indicated he was leaning toward entering this year's NFL Draft. He was quoted in the Gainesville Sun saying “I've got a pretty good idea what I'm going to do. It's really attractive to move on." The 6-5, 255-pound Moss likely improved his stock after he harassed Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith. Moss recorded two sacks and forced a fumble in the Florida win. Moss, in fact, is one of several Gators leaning toward leaving a year early as FS Reggie Nelson, WR Andre Caldwell and LB Brandon Siler are all considering entering the draft with Caldwell also indicating that he may also be gone. Nelson and Silar, on the othe hand, have still to decide. Nelson, for example, who could be among the first 4-5 defensive players off the board has enrolled in classes for current semester.
