Ja'Marr Chase Suspended 1 Game; APPEAL DENIED

If that's the case then it still comes down to whether they want him for the Pats game or Ravens game. Seeing as the Ravens game is on Thanksgiving I could see him opting to be back on a primetime game rather than playing against the Patriots.

That makes a lot more sense to me.

If he were suspended and appealed that lets him play Sunday - even if he loses that means he'd be out against the Ravens, not the Pats
Correct.

I was actually looking forward to him matching up with Gonzalez, but oh well. Pats have a #1 seed to clinch.

I agree. My point is if they decide they are suspending him, they will, regardless of star power.

Nah! Again Brady and Belichick were different. Everyone around the league the Patriots got off easy for Spygate. Deflategate was a make up call. It had nothing to do with whether they give a free pass to star players or not.

@maust handled that best IMO:
That was different though. Brady's rep and honor were sacrificed for the greater good of proving out that Fraudger can suspend anyone at any time for any reason, even a completely fabricated one. Had to preserve the commissioner's authority with the biggest possible example, how the hell else are you gonna keep the hired help in line?

I really am not going to worry about whether Chase is going to suspended. If he is, he is. If the Pats cannot beat this version of the Bengals with or without Chase, they have more concerns than whether Chase is playing or not. This team is awful with or without Chase.

This is about Chase spitting and has nothing to do with Spygate or Deflategate. No need to hijack a thread.

National media pretty much agree he needs to be suspended, some say two games because be stood there and lied saying he didn’t spit. I would think the NFL would want him not to play against the Ravens and Lamar Jackson, Pats will be in the playoffs regardless and the Ravens are 5-5 fighting to get there, I think they want Lamar in.

Except I disagree. If it was Peyton Manning, there was no way he would have gotten the suspension Brady did nor would they have manipulated the results of the Wells report like they did to make sure it convicted Brady when the results were questionable at best. Manning would have been exonerated. It was all about the Patriots and how everyone in the league think they constantly cheated and get away with it. Brady was a victim of the team's reputation and was stripped of his star player privileges.

In fact, it was any other team, Deflategate would never have happened.

I remember people arguing that the Pats should have been stripped of their higher 1st round pick, which was one acquired by trade.

There was really no reason that they should, other than the fact that it would hurt the Pats more, and the people supporting that were not supporting it on principal, they just wanted the most damage done to a team they could not handle on the field.

I'm sure he lied because he was sure no one saw it. The zebras didn't, and he figured it was unlikely that there was any camera with the exact perfect angle to notice spit fly out. Unfortunately for him, he was wrong.

I don't get the people who say "they'll need to review the evidence" - what is there to review? The whole thing can be summed up in a 4 frame long animated GIF. Pretty open and shut case here.

Itd be a super bad look on the nfl if hes not suspended. Not just the inconsistency with the Jalen carter incident but ramsey did get kicked out of yesterday’s game for responding to it and who can blame him.

OK. I don't want to argue about it and go down the rabbit hole on this, it's all old news. You're not wrong on Manning be exonerated and @maust isn't wrong either. Nothing is gonna change regardless. Let's focus on the fact they 9 and freakin' 2 baby!

It's Ai. Prove me wrong.

Oh wait, it's the NFL.

Deflategate may not have happened if it was another team, hell other teams 'cooked' balls and the league's reaction was 'meh.'
That wasn't the case I was making though. My point was any player that pushed back as hard as Brady did against a bogus suspension was going to get taken to the wall. Think about it, the league ultimately failed in proving deflategate in court. The suspension was upheld purely because the CBA said Fraudger could suspend any player for any reason he chose. For 'the good of the game' and all that. That it was Brady was just gravy as far as the league was concerned. If they could do it the game's biggest star everyone else just needed to STFU and toe the line.

The end result of Deflagate was a 14-1 season (including the playoffs) once Brady returned, winning the SB, Brady becoming the undisputed, unanimous GOAT overnight, and Goodell being booed so loudly in front of 100+ million people, he turned into a mime.

The entire witch hunt couldn't have backfired worse for the league, if they tried.

He’s a fool then if he didn’t think it would be caught on camera in game on TV in two markets or on fans iPhones.
