I'm watching NEST and Ordway and Felger are saying that BB said that Jackson was inactive not due to injury.

Also, they were speculating that Gabe was also held out of the first half, for some reason.

We won't ever know for sure but that gives a whole new prospective to what happened last night. This is the first I've heard of it and can't see another thread about this so if it's already been posted- tough.

BB gave the same quote he always gives when asked about why a guy didn't play - We went with the 45 guys who gave us the best chance to win this game.

He didn't say he wan't hurt and he didn't say that he was.

They didn't say it with any knowledge, just speculation based on Belichick not mentioning an injury. Which means nothing.

We'll never know WHAT the issue was with BB... but whether it was an overabundance of caution regarding his hamstring or teaching the rookie an early lesson, it all speaks to the Patriot's willingness to prioritize a season and a dynasty over a win or loss in just one game.

Would Jackson have made the difference last night? Who knows.

But better to be safe than sorry whether that's a matter of reinjuring his hammy, or sending a message that the team rules don't apply to him.

Someone said that when Brady was on EEI he said Jackson didn't play because his hamstring tightened up.

And if they are getting this from what Belichick said then this is pure speculation.

As for Gabriel not playing in the first half--it could be for many reasons. I think it was because he was still somewhat injured and they didn't want to play him if at all possible. Once seeing how inept the offense was they knew they had to. But maybe they don't feel like he knows the offense well enough yet for regular duty. Or maybe another WR got niched up so they had to put him in.

I know I'd rather opponents think Jackson is a screw-up than a guy with a gimpy leg.

Ok then, I'm a rumor mongering , speculating, turd stirring POS.

The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem...

Unless he avoids mirrors, how hard could it be?

The Jets game two weeks ago was interesting. In the first half, both Brown and Caldwell were split wide. By the second half, both Gabriel and Jackson were split wide.

Notice how BB pauses when asked the question today:

On if receiver Chad Jackson was deactivated for Sunday’s game due to his hamstring flaring up

“He was inactive because we felt like we had other players that were … we felt we put our best 45 out there. That’s the 45 that were active, that’s what we felt those were for this particular game.”
