If you draft a guy (like Marquise Hill, for instance) and he sits around developing for four years, did you really get value from your pick even if he turns into the second coming of Reggie White in his final contract year?

How often does this ever happen though? Likely never because teams picks that dont work out are usually cut and not allowed to linger around until there contract season.
