wtf.......

Jake Plummer was traded to the Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers signed Jeff Garcia.

The Dolphins traded Dan Wilkinson to the Broncos.

but why the hell would they get both qbs especiually after they singed simms to a extnetion

Huh!! I thought Plummer was going to retire... Where did you get this latest information? As of yesterday night, Plummer was retiring...

Plummer will probably be traded

I thought he was retiring if he went to the Bucs.

I also heard (cant remember where) that he was going to Houston and Carr was going to TB.

Per PFT

Basically Tampa will get the rights to Plummer and Denver will get a conditional pick in '08 based on his playing time in '07. If he does retire, Denver gets nothing in return but here's where it gets interesting: Tampa would have Plummer's rights and would be entitled to a portion of his signing bonus if he retires.

So Jake may have to pay Tampa to retire - man the Broncos are sticking it to him

per ESPN
Just one day after quarterback Jake Plummer indicated he'd rather retire than relocate in a trade, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have recovered, signing unrestricted free agent Jeff Garcia on a deal that could allow the veteran to again challenge for a starting job in the league.
Jeff Garcia had been in talks with the Raiders. But when the Bucs' efforts to land Jake Plummer apparently fell through, Garcia called an audible.
Then they traded for Plummer anyway, sending a 2008 conditional draft pick to the Denver Broncos on Saturday in exchange.

Apparently, the deal states that Denver would retain it's rights to pursue the repayment of the signing bonus. I'm not sure how the accelerated cap hit would be affecteed though.

Denver would get KILLED in the press for dealing him directly to the Rai-DUHs (as PFT is speculating), so they create the straw man scenario, using Tampa Bay as the decoy. It only makes sense this way. How many bad QBs does even a QB-starved team like the Bucs need (even without Plummer, it's three and counting)? Oaklands QBs can't even qualify as bad so Jake is a perfect stopgap until JaMarcus Russell is ready. He won't have many chokable games to blow in Oakland and any he does blow will benefit the Bronc-holes.
