J.C. Jackson - "It's time to get Mr. INT paid."

Letting JC walk in free agency would be really bad. We have no depth behind him at all and would pretty much be forced to spend a high pick in that position and that guy is ready to play at a high level day 1. It also hinders our free agency because any free agent we sign is going against the comp formula which would factor against the comp pick we get for JC. Disaster outcome
Well Slow-Quan who runs like a fire hydrant is still on the roster next man up.

Sounds like the Pats will get that trade partner for a tag and trade deal. A first round pick isn’t out of the question. I agree he is gone. The only question is what the Pats get in compensation.

Not a fan of this move, but bill gotta have something up his sleeve. 17.3m for a cb the caliber of jcj is a deal imo so hes gotta feel pretty comfortable with what’s available via fa/draft

Unless one of those wanna win now Teams come knocking...I am sure the Pats have feelers gauging JC Jackson's value in a potential sign and Trade. I am ok with moving on if we get can at least a Second Rounder for him.

I thought sign and trades for unrestricted free agents was pretty rare and the return on such trades was pretty rare.

losing JC will be a big blow. Current CB corners on the roster are pretty average. Rookie CBs tend to take some time to develop and BB defenses with at least 1 great corner are generally much better than his defenses without one.

For all the garbage you and captainmoron give Williams, you ignore the fact that in in 181 snaps on passing plays, he was targeted just 18 times allowing 10 receptions (55.9%) for 129 yards with 5 PD and 1 TD allowed.

He's not spectacular, but acting like he's a "firehydrant" shows how little football knowledge you're offering.

You can only sign & trade Franchised players. The range of return has varied.

I’m glad they’re not using the franchise tag on Jackson. Either negotiate with him in good faith as a free agent or move on.

To me, Jackson has elite ball skills but is not an elite cover guy because he lacks top end speed. He’s replaceable, but they had a need at CB even with Jackson.

The Pats played far more zone last season, especially on early downs than they have in a long time. I wonder if this a sign that might continue next season as well. It was actually quite successful for a while during the winning streak.

Glad to live rent free in your head. You obsession with me is a little pathetic, but it suits you well.

If I am wrong I am wrong. I have no problem admitting I am wrong. What I do have a problem doing is making myself look like an ass posting multiple taunting victory posts when someone I don’t like is wrong. I mean I have more respect for myself to lower myself for that. Good for you for having no self respect. You own that.

They played zone cause Jackson was the only corner on the roster who can hold up in man coverage. BB would rather be a predominantly man defense rather than a zone, history has shown us that.

The Pats had to sent out feelers for the trade market and I guess there wasn’t the interest I thought there would be. I am surprised at least one team wouldn‘t think he was worth trading for.

Only here for the ‘oh snap’.

Just as well to not tag him. Would just be another 1st round bust. Either a harry or a "special teams ace". Belichick being a genius and drafting 7th round st'ers in the 1st round. No one would call him on it, they'd just ooh and aah. "So that's why he gets 25m per, drafted a gunner in the 1st, never have too many of those!".

Incidentally the name harry is being used as a common noun with the definition of total screw up. Something that was supposed to be easy but instead was totally fubar'ed.

Are you saying the Pats could trade the right to place the franchise tag on JC?

Let Him Walk and get the Pick.
He OBVIOUSLY is a "Me" guy, but he's NOT a #1Cover corner IMHO, He's a GREAT #2.
IDGAS about the ******** INTS, you guys saw them, most were GIFTS because the QB was a BUM.
He get's SCORCHED way too often against good WRS IMHO.

I'M GOOD.

No they can tag him and then trade him. But they can talk to teams to gauge interest before they do. That is the kind of stuff that happens at the Combine which is going on now.

It’s kind of a risky move because you’re telling teams you have no intention of signing him long term. I’d tell Bill I wasn’t interested and wait for him to be a UFA without being tagged.
