What makes Butch's death even more significant is that he died in mid-October 2001, the same week as the Patriots season saving comeback against San Diego which cemented Brady as the starter. The Yankees dynasty also came to an end a couple weeks later.

It got me thinking how many of the championships I've been around for.....
Born in 1959 just after the Celtics won their 2nd championship

Celtics alive for 15/17
Patriots 3/3
Bruins 2/5
Red Sox 2/7

Total 22/32 Not too shabby. I may have been too young to remember a few of the early Celtic ones but these are 'the good old days"
