that being said, I don't think our D "flies to the ball". You hear that phrase thrown around about some defenses (hard to believe the colts have this now) but I don't feel the pats are that kind of D. During a couple of runs, I noticed the lineman and linebackers "watching" the play after McGahee was past them. I say, don't stop playing even if your not in the play anymore.
Last week was just an off game on the coverages.
This week the linemen were being held and tackled.
Why do you think the Patriots are complaining about the refereeing? Why is Vrabel chewing out a ref in the tunnel? They were being held. I've seen this in college football before where an upset is sprung because suddenly the refs put away the flags. You can run for hundreds of yards if you're allowed to tackled the D-linemen and then give crackback blocks to the safeties and CBs. 3 linebackers against 5 offensive lineman? Advantage: offense.
why were they so bad the past 2 weeks?? if this happens in the playoffs...they are done for
it makes you nervous going forward doesnt it ? if the pats D plays this poorly against the colts in a afccg we wont like the outcome .why were they so bad the past 2 weeks?? if this happens in the playoffs...they are done for
Sorry guys but the "linemen are being held and tackled" angle is an excuse. The linemen aren't the ones asked to make the plays, the linebackers are. Bru is just getting run over, AD hasn't shown up in this D as expected, Seymour really hasn't shown anything since his return, I don't hear Warren's name anymore...
This defense is not very good at tackling and this has been a constant problem since the beginning of the year. It's just that the offense has been able to disguise this alot by blowing teams out making the other team one-dimensional and having to throw into the teeth of our biggest playmakers, Rodney and Samuel and best tacklers, Rodney and Sanders.
The D is a concern, especially in the red zone where they rank last.
Don't get me wrong, I think this team is special but the defense could be better, much better.
The Colts probably won't even make it that far.Even if they did I still like our chances at home in the snow.Bring on any team!it makes you nervous going forward doesnt it ? if the pats D plays this poorly against the colts in a afccg we wont like the outcome .
i hope your right.but i still think the colts are the second best team in the league. The Colts probably won't even make it that far.Even if they did I still like our chances at home in the snow.Bring on any team!
