Adjust how? I mean, again, the other option was leaving Alex Austin on an island with Hill or Waddle, neither sounds like a great plan to me. It was a patient gameplan, hope the front 4 wear down Miami's o-line, and they did, when it mattered most.
they could have played Marcus on Hill with Hawkins providing double team help over the top
They could have Davis follow Waddle all over the field.
They could have utilized Mapu earlier, and have him spy Achane all over the field.
they could have mixed it up on Tua a few times and sent 5 or 6.

I agree, in the 4th, the DL got to Tua. but the facts are the team won the game because Achane put half his foot out of bounds.

Just want to clarify what I meant by "upside play". I didn't mean specifically on the field, just the general idea that they viewed it as keeping a young player whose best football is ahead of him and playing himself into his salary. The "upside play" was in reference to that contractual bet they made, not something specifically on the field. We'll see if that does or doesn't materialize.

As far him being better than Peppers, there's a lot that goes into that roster decision. For one, it's a different position although there's probably enough duplication there between box safety and STs to compare. But If Peppers didn't fit what they were trying to do, he probably doesn't take as well to a reduced role. They might not have liked his attitude in general. Maybe health concerns? Idk. But certainly on paper it seems obvious they kept the lesser player which is a head scratcher.
I agree. Peppers is a bit older but he is a former 1st round pick for a reason. Elliss was an UDFA. We can not tackle (Elliss included), and I think Vrabel's crew got too concerned with athleticism or flexibility or another, and forgot to sign guys that can tackle.

Maybe Terrell would have been better without his health complications, but... he has them. And I don't think it's helped. Consistency of message and voice is important. And right now, we don't have that. It doesn't matter what you want to say about Terrell. As our old boss used to say, 'It is what it is.'

Right now, I would just say fawk it. Kuhr is the DC for this season moving forward. Or Vrabel, but Terrell has to be sidelined as maybe an assistant/advisor role. Start making sure the defensive guys know whose voice they're listening to on gameday week-to-week. Revisit the situation once the season is over.

They could have, now that I think about it. It's pretty much the one scenario where Marcus Jones won't be trying to cover some 6'3" guy. Maybe they will in the future, I'm curious as to what his role is going to be going forward. I have to keep reminding myself that everyone's still figuring **** out.
