Is Denver's defense good enough for a SB run?

They could be, by virtue of a crop of weaker offenses in the AFC field this year.

It depends on how seeding shakes out, whether there’s a wildcard upset, etc.

I think Buffalo beats them handily. I’d call the Patriots and Texans a toss up. I’d expect them to take care of the Chargers, Steelers and Jags.

Nix is a baller like Maye. Maybe not as good (now) but he has that dog in him. Harvey is a good RB and that’s a good receiving corps as well.

This is bride even mentioning the defense which is fantastic.

So yeah they’re good enough

Denver's defensive numbers look really good (#5 in points allowed, #4 in yardage), but they are skewed by a few games.

Remove two games against the Raiders, and games against the Titans, Jets and Bengals right after Joe Burrow was injured, and the Broncos defense looks relatively average.

When you disregard those five games, Denver is allowing an average of 358 yards per game, and 24.5 points per game, which would rank 27th and 21st in the NFL this season. Yes, I'm cherry picking stats here, but I don't think the Broncos defense is as great as it is advertised to be.

Denver has also won six games by three or fewer points.
They could easily have a record of 10-5 or 9-6.

Week 1 vs Tenn, 20-12 win
133 total yards, 7 first downs allowed.
Won despite turning the ball over four times.

Week 2, lost 29-28 at Colts
473 total yards allowed: 306 passing, 167 rushing, no takeaways.

Week 3, lost 23-20 at Chargers
376 total yards, 29 first downs allowed

Week 4, beat Cincy 28-3
159 total yards, 9 first downs allowed
Jake Browning starts in place of Joe Burrow

Week 5, won 21-17 at Eagles
302 yards allowed, no takeaways

Week 6, won 13-11 at Jets
82 total yards, 8 first downs allowed, no takeaways

Week 7, won 33-32 vs Giants
387 total yards, 26 first downs allowed

Week 8, won 44-24 at Cowboys
339 total yards, 24 first downs allowed

Week 9, won 18-15 at Texans
Won despite scoring only one late touchdown

Week 10, won 10-7 vs Raiders
188 total yards, 10 first downs allowed
Won despite scoring only one touchdown again

Week 11, won 22-19 vs Chiefs
311 total yards, 19 first downs allowed

Week 13, won 27-26 at Commanders
419 total yards, 30 first downs allowed

Week 14, won 24-17 at Raiders
229 total yards, 16 first downs allowed

Week 15, won 34-26 vs Packers
362 total yards, 19 first downs allowed

Week 16, lost 34-20 to Jaguars
346 total yards, 22 first downs allowed

If they win the #1 seed - yes. For Denver it matters a lot. And they easily could lose the division now

Denver's D didn't look all that special against JAX so I'll say no.

Oh look who is back now that we have a winning record

I was back before the Draft. So if you're saying I'm a good luck charm I accept that responsibility.

I know this is about the defense, but if you take out the plays where they scored TDs in their red zone offense has really struggled too.
