Both Spikes and Cunningham ran poorly at their Pro days. Spikes clocked in at over 5 seconds and Cunninham was clocked in over .20 worse than a previous time. Cunningham even tripped and fell down at the end of his run.

Both players were obviously on the Patriots radar.

Both players played under Meyer who has a great relationship with Belichick and therefore would have known they were on the Patriots radar.

With three 2nd round picks, the Patriots had the ammo to grab both at a point in the draft both would be happy with.

My point? Well, let me put it this way.

If two players wanted to be picked by the Patriots, one way to increase the odds of such an outcome would be to deliberately tank their workouts in front of other scouts and then show their stuff to BB and the rest of the Patriots scouts.

It turns out that the Patriots did not attend their pro days but instead worked them out privately the very next day. Coincidence?

I just find it hard to believe that Spikes really runs a 5+ forty. The guy plays a heck of a lot faster than that. And Cunningham falling down.....Hmmm, makes me wonder.

Belichick's new nickname should be Slim Shady..... And I completely LOVE it!

Re: Interesting Theory on Fla Players 40 times

No conspiracy needed, the field conditions at that pro day were widely reported to be dreadful.

the difference between going in the first and second rounds is millions of $$$$. I don't think these guys want to play on the patriots that bad.

Re: Interesting Theory on Fla Players 40 times

if they were really team players they would've tanked it so badly we could get them in the 7th.

Re: Interesting Theory on Fla Players 40 times

Because all those Florida players, just dream of playing up north in the snow.

Was Bob Kraft on the grassy knoll?

Didn't there used to be another poster by the name of Pyper???

Did the guy with the umbrella take any pics?

So they tank their numbers hoping that none of the other coaches and scouts saw their games, saw their stats, interview their coaches and teammates...and then don't draft them until the Patriots make their choice.

Right...OK then.

Must be a sequel to the spacecrime thread.

I think that those runs were on grass and in light rain.

"Interesting" theory? More like completely ridiculous.

Here's an interesting theory: stop making threads. :bricks:

Who needs enemies when you have fans like this... :p

"See this hole?"........."Rats come out of this hole"

Felger will pick it up and run with it...

along with the Tebow-lunch-conspiracy which he will try to turn into Watergate.

I swear, we really couldn't make this stuff up...

Was Bob Kraft on the grassy knoll?

If you look closely in the picture of the moon landings you can see a reflection of Ernie Adams in Neil Armstrong's face plate. Just saying.
