Interactive Chart For Patriots' Salraies

Once again, the UK's Guardian newspaper trumps most anything here in the US, regarding US News & Sports. It's a sad state of affairs when you have to go to a foreign media for accurate, well-written articles. But I digress.

Check out this online site for all 32 NFL teams. You can roll your mouse over each position and see a breakdown of salaries. VERY nicely done.

Veteran free agent contract vs rookie contract.

A better comparison will be Gregory's contract vs McCourty's next contract.

The difference would have been even greater if McCourty was drafted a year later after the rookie wage scale was in place (though the rookie wage scale mostly changed players drafted in the top half of the first round). For comparison look at the Rams and what they're allocating to Sam Bradford, who was drafted first that year. St. Louis has $40,000,000 of cap space going to three players (Bradford, Cortland Finnegan, James Laurinaitis).

The Guardian's NFL coverage is beaten only by it's coverage on Football and Cricket, where it's the market leader in the latter category, and probably just behind The Times in the former.
