Imminent Cuts??

Can't think too many teams are willing to spend even a 6th or 7th rounder for a guy who'll probably have the choice between signing with them or bagging groceries in 2 weeks.

But what the heck, I never said I know everything.
If it's a player who will definitely be claimed a team low on the waiver order would need to trade to get them.

Being great at roster management has nothing to do with the fact that sometimes cutting guys is hard. He's not a freaking robot, whatever you may think. He does his job well- that doesn't mean you enjoy every aspect of your job. BB is probably closer to all his players than just about any other hc. Why do I know this? Because he gets more involved in every positional drill than every other coach. He knows all these guys by name. I think he has more affinity for the scrappers, the end of the roster guys than other coaches. But he does his job well. Doesn't mean he enjoys every little part of it. I've been a boss, firing people is usually not easy. If it is,you're not a good boss.
A good boss views firing someone (in most cases) as a failure of both the person and management.
while BB recognizes he only has room for 53 he had the belief he could coach the other 37 up and didn't get there.
Each cut is both a failure of the guy who didn't make it and a success for the guy who did

The Giants have a ton of very good defensive lineman, they are going to have to cut a few of them, that would be something to watch for during the 4th pre-season game.

I'm glad that they have moved the cuts until after the 4th pre-season game, its a completely meaningless game, yet some of your team's core players were forced to play the entire game, because it was played with the 75 man roster.

The Pats will be in both a good and bad position, after the final cuts are made. I doubt with a game 4 days away, they would make any roster moves during that time. But after the opening game, the Pats (along with the Chiefs) will have a 3-4 day jump on the rest of the league, scooping up veterans, who if they had signed them prior to the first game, would have had their entire salaries guaranteed.

In the past, BB would cut a veteran player early, if he knew that player was not going to make his team. He would cut him early to give him a chance to catch on with another team. He has also made some brutal cuts (Milloy) and trades (Seymour, Vrabel, Mankins) duirng the last week of the pre-season.
