That's a totally different statement. I understand what it means for a team or player to play at a championship level, even in the first game of a 16 game season. I still don't know what a "championship caliber" team is, though. Let's just agree to disagree on that one point.
We have had this discussion before on this board. I don't know how we can define 'Championship Caliber' or 'good enough to win a championship' either.
The best team doesn't always win, but the team that plays best always does.
Or else, if we were to define each Super Bowl champ as being the best team, it means they should have been the best team entering each game and thus every Super Bowl champ should have a 19-0 record.
