Also, Wheatley has excellent ball skills. He simply needs the valuable game reps to develop those skills. As a cover corner, Arrington doesn't come close. Patience required.

Wheatley. I would like Taylor to start too but RB is in good hands with BJGE right now, Taylor would be sort of a bonus. Wheatley is much more needed given the play of Butler/Arrington.

If Crable and/or Wheatley log any decent snaps this season it will be a nice surprise considering most of us had them as cuts.

Not to mention how it will reflect differently on the 08 draft.

I think it would reflect differently on the 2011 draft. If Gronk and Hernandez play well, than BB won't draft a TE in Round 1 or 2. If Butler can get his head straight and Wheatley can stay healthy than BB will not draft a CB in the early rounds. When was the last time we didn't draft a TE or CB in the early rounds? If Branch resigns and Price is a player than we don't need a WR in the early rounds either, which means we can concentrate on DE, OLB, RB and OL with 7 picks.

I think Wheatley will have to get in shape before he plays a lot. I would be surprised if he plays a lot against the Ravens. Crable was inactive last week so he obviously has a long way to go.

Thats a very good point as well. What I was referring to is that only one player from the 08 draft would appear to be helping the team this year. Making that 3 players would change our feelings on it a bit I'd think.

Taylor is out again, from today's practice.

I think this confirms my suspicions that he has a turf toe. That is a type of injury that is hard to get over, and probably will linger all season long.

Fred Taylor is really starting to piss me off. I know it's not his fault since a turf toe is a major ***** to overcome, but goddamn. The man teases us in the preseason and Week 1 with his burst of speed... and then completely disappears. We need him out there, Law Firm can't handle the load by himself.
