Re: If both Moss and T.O. retire at the same time ....

easy, they both get in at the same time

They will both retire as at least two of the top seven WRs of all time. They have to get in regardless of attitude.

If they (both) don't get in as far as I am concern, the HOF is a sham.

Re: If both Moss and T.O. retire at the same time ....

There will be a backlash against both because of their problems, but TO faces a far bigger challenge getting in the HOF. He has damaged as many teams as he helped. WRs tend to have problems getting in the HOF to begin with (Art Monk, Cris Carter, Michael Irvin), but TO has far too many negatives against him causing huge problems for every team he has been on.

Besides, Moss has the single season TD record and has about 800 yards and 4 less TDs than Owens eventhough Owens has been in the league for two more years than Moss. That will help him in his quest for a HOF entrance.

They both will have no problems getting into the HOF. But it won't be right away.

Re: If both Moss and T.O. retire at the same time ....

Moss will finish with better career stats, set the record for most TDs ever caught in one season, and hasn't destroyed every locker room that he's ever been a part of. I think that both will make it, but Moss definitely has the clearer path in.

Re: If both Moss and T.O. retire at the same time ....

I disagree. Moss has played two less seasons so the averages favor Moss for productivity/ season. Also, Moss holds the single season TD record. Finally, Moss has been a good soldier for the past two years which will be remembered vs the TO franchise killing status he currently owns.....I voted "same year" because the stats are near identical, but I would bet many "real" voters will flex their righteousness and make them both squirm. Then Brady and McNabb will enter the room and straighten out the fat fu**s that vote.

I guess I assumed the conversation was based on numbers as they exist today. When all is said and done Moss should be able to overtake TO. But they are both two of the best ever

Man was Jerry Rice good...

Moss was pretty much hated by every writer in the world after his BS in Oakland, TO's track record speaks for itself. Irvin was a crack head so I don't think any of it matters, on pure production they both should get in easily, otherwise why is there a HOF...

Re: If both Moss and T.O. retire at the same time ....

Moss does have the edge right now because of his stats and record breaking year in 2007 but if T.O. helps the Bills to win a championship that could change the way people view T.O.

This is an important year for both players if they want to solidify thier place in NFL History, they both arent getting any younger and neither has a ring to show how important of a difference maker they were for thier teams although both guys came close to winning a ring and ironically both falling short by 3 points.

I do hate Owens but his performance against the Pats in SB 39 was nothing more than incredible as if he was the only guy out there making plays with a bust up ankle and almost pulled it off if McNabb had not decided to get nervous and drop his lunch all over the turf.

Not going to happen.

Re: If both Moss and T.O. retire at the same time ....

Not going to happen.

Nobody thought a man named Tom Brady could do it either - It really depends on how T.O. acts and fits into thier offense,I think he still have some gas in the tank and when he wants to play he can be very tough to control down the field.

Trent Edwards has the talent to get it done and now he has his receiver to help

"If both Moss and T.O. retire at the same time"

Moss will have way gone past anything T.O. puts up career wise.

Moss is THREE years younger than T.O. -- Moss is 32 and Owens is 35.

If Moss stays health for 4-5 more seasons...he'll be 35 or 36 then...he'll be challenging Jerry Rice's 197 career TDs and the discussion will turn into who's the best WR of all TIMES.

Moss is 4 TDs behind T.O. and Moss is 3 years younger! You figure the final math!

Re: If both Moss and T.O. retire at the same time ....

when moss rings up 20 more td's next season, while owens is struggling to get 6, that should close the book on this poll.
As long as he is holding the Lombardi between BB and TB I don't care how he plays until game number 19

They will both go in the first year of eligibility..no doubt.

But Randy is the Man and TO knows it.:singing:

You sir, is an intelligent man

And are eligible for the hall of fame, who gets in first?

Since both #81s are now in the AFC East it brings up this poll

Please decide based on what you see as what the player has accomplished and NOT by the jersey he wears, otherwise its biased towards Moss and unfair so lets be neutral and all about the players career ONLY
Do u know how few athletes qualify as changing the game/position of their sport. Moss has already done that no ?. Dude redefined the wr position. I guarantee u randy was not the first tall fast guy to play in the nfl. His impact cannot be debated. But some people like to argue. People, U are watching the match to 200 td's. Enjoy

T.O. is not getting in the HOF, IMO.

Re: If both Moss and T.O. retire at the same time ....

I don't like that Moss and TO are lumped together...

I just watched your sig for 5 minutes. It's amazing.

A clear no brainer, both players get in. If O.J. Simpson gets to stay in the HOF then why should anyone be kept out?

Re: If both Moss and T.O. retire at the same time ....

Moss is without question the most physically gifted WR of all time, and the greatest deep threat the game has ever seen.

Because what OJ did had nothing to do with the NFL, Peter King has illustrated that many times - On the other hand, what TO has done to teams is directly related to football and the teams that player for.

He's not a HOF'r in my book and while I don't vote (Obviously), I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

Ha Ha, I just did the same thing!

Re: If both Moss and T.O. retire at the same time ....

At this point, I don't think either get in because of their problems (attitude and otherwise) and the fact that neither of them has a ring. After this year though, Moss is 1st ballot HOFer.

If moss doesn't get in, The HOF is a joke.

If Jerry Rice never played, Moss would be the greatest receiver of all time.

TO is very good, but nobody changes the game like Moss. I don't think Rice even made DCs as scared as Moss does.

What the hell are you on to say this?

Moss could not tie Jerry Rice's shoes - Period

I'd be pissed.
