Just saying...if Falcons had gotten conservative, kicked a FG late, and won the game by say 3, obviously the whole narrative is 100% different.

Favorite themes of the critics and haters of Pats/BB/TB would have included: Pats gagged away a third SB, BB didn't have his team prepared, Brady is officially old, D was a mirage, Falcons are the new Seattle-like young turk dynasty in the making, cheaters got their due, etc.

But you know one of the big ones would have been that Julio Jones was a gigantic hero in the game for THAT CATCH, along with a few others that were incredible (Ryan or Jarrett prob wins MVP still). And Julio is a total freak of nature, hard work, and breathtaking talent. The whole story about BB telling Dimitroff not to use mega draft capital to go up and get JJ because it wasn't worth it would have gotten a lot of play this past week.

We won. How about we talk about that?

Lol. Fair enough Andy. Let's gets back to reveling in the win.

And yet Belichick was still right in what he said.

It was never about Julio Jones but about the fact that giving away your entire draft for one blue chip player is risky business - especially if you then also whiff in FA. And the Falcons paid their price in the last 3 years of consistent mediocrity because of missing depth across the board.

Anyone who still doesn't get is either dense or just trolling.

And besides, they have already had to sign Julio to an extension. Imagine if Julio didn't want to play there anymore and left via Free Agency. Then the Falcons would be lacking depth AND the playmaker they traded up for.

I just find it ridiculous that people would criticize BB for saying "hey, DON'T trade away a ton of picks (which sacrifices your depth) to get one playmaker (who may not stick around long-term)."

If we had lost by 3 I think we'd be ok. 28 to 3? Ugh. Win by 6. Yep that changes the narrative just a little bit.
