Some great signs, but the best will get bleeped. Can't add much, but I thought the idea of flipping the sign is a good one. You need to be on the phone with a buddy at every break who tells you when you are on TV and then flip fast. It's sexist, but it would also be a good idea if a really cute girl was holding the sign above her head and jumping up and down.

You do realize there is a 10-15 second delay between Gillette and ESPN in your house, right?

It's a 5 or 7 second broadcast profanity delay to allow for censoring, although the switcher lets one through every now and then as we all know. I volunteered briefly on a community TV talk show and know firsthand how hard live switching is.

even so, it's a visual cut not aural and if the announcers are in the middle of something, it might be hard to cut away a couple of seconds...with DVR's all you need is the sign up for a couple of seconds before they cut away...and, if it's critical but not obscene, the person with their finger on the bleep button might hesitate just long enough...
