The colts beat us up real good. It wasn’t really Jonathan Taylor going off the whole game, we just got bullied in all 3 phases. Giving up the blocked punt which is the 3rd of the year ended up being the difference maker. BB coached teams don’t usually make dumb mistakes like that on special teams and I think it’s the same guy who’s given up the blocked punt. Thank god this type of game didn’t happen in January or there would be nothing to fix since the season would be over. There’s a good chance we see these guys again and if we don’t lose again then it’ll be at Gillette stadium.

good patriot teams of the past responded after an ugly loss like this and we responded this year after starting 2-4. I hope to see more physicality next week against buffalo.

It was amazing winning 7 straight with elite defense and power running football. But like a loser crack addict we can't help but see if crappy spread shotgun works.
Product of what was going on in the game.

1) we tried to power run early but our line was getting blown up and our RBs getting dropped behind the line of scrimmage

2) we got down by 3 scores which meant we had to throw to get back in the game

Mac almost brought us back. If we would have gotten the ball back down 3, There was a real chance of that happening. Once you go down 20-0, it’s hard to come back from that

No the crappy outside tosses were getting stopped . This is the problem when lowIQ people are running the offense and make crappy conclusions from plays (not you)

This game reminded me a little of the 2015 Eagles game. Lots of screwups.... didn't give up... still almost came back. It is what it is.

We are on to Buffalo! :)

Poor blocking from the o line. They were in the backfield on almost every play it seemed.
This is why I didn’t think it was all on Mac. The picks yes, but early on he was under duress constantly. There was always a free rusher.

I agree. They clearly got complacent over the bye.
As Slater said "its a wake up call".
Now that the monkey's off they're back, hopefully they get back on track

The fact it was a "wake up call" underlines how this is a team ahead of schedule. We weren't supposed to be 9-5 with a rookie quarterback and free agents still figuring out the system and culture. But we got hot and... drank a little of the media koolaid proclaiming us as top 5 beasts.

Now we're back on terra firma after seeing we have to play a complete game to defeat playoff squads like the Colts. We got mentally, physically, and emotionally whooped. The only silver linings were Mac's ability to rally in the 4th and us having three more weeks to regroup for the postseason so we can prove the Colts game isn't who we are against quality teams.

At this point, yee haw. This isn't a team that on paper should win anything this year. Now that we are no longer the AFC darling, maybe that means we can get back to being the underdog who fights and claws.

the Buffalo game will tell the story if we bounce back to compete for a 1 spot or lose again and will be fighting for a lower spot. Next week will be the most telling of this team to date.

Huge game next week. Don't waste this loss - learn from it, make the adjustments and go beat the damn Bills.

Did not play well, but some real positives. First, we remain pretty healthy. Second, I see a potential championship level defense. And third, the kid hung in there and we scared the piss outta them.

Even during the Brady years, the Pats usually had one game a season where the wheels fell off and they never were in it. This Colts game wasn't that; in fact, we haven't had a loss all year where we weren't in it late. That's pretty remarkable.

I was hoping the Pats are a wagon and would keep on rolling.
I'm sure it's been mentioned, but for some reason, they seem to come out flat after a by.

Yeah, I picked the pats to win but honestly I never really believed in my pick. It was more so hoping than actually thinking... Next week is for the division. LFG!

Our run defense needed to be exposed before the playoffs. They were spared from playing Chubb and Henry. I don't think we have the personnel to ever be elite against the run but we can be adequate.

This may be extreme but I feel this game should be the nail in the coffin for our special teams coach. 3 blocked punts and other mishaps over the year. Completely unacceptable considering how many st specialist we have on the roster. A BB coached team with bad st is rare. No coach of the year for this alone.

Except for the Saints game ... never really were in that one
