The thing that bothers me the most about the Borges quote is that it is blatantly untrue.
Belichick would still be a highly paid defensive coach in the NFL independent of the New England Patriots or even thrive as a NCAA head coach. Borges hasn't wrote an article since this story, I wonder if it was his parting shot at the Herald. In the age of Internet newspapers where publishers can track the clicks of readers to determine which of their writers get read or not, it's a wonder how Borges still has a job,

He hasn't had an article printed since Thursday or Friday. I doubt he has been run out of town. With the bye week last week, he probably won't write more than one or two columns this week unless another newsworthy event happens.

Well, if he's desperate for attention then he must be doing something right because you started an entire thread (now at 11 pages) talking about him - which is exactly what he wants.

In Borges' profession, it's better to have everyone talking about you (even if they're talking about what an idiot you are) than it is to completely ignore you. The man has no actual talent so he gets what he wants by being deliberately provocative. Threads like this is the exact result he hopes for.

She been extremely arrogant and and insultingly condescending. Now don't get me wrong... those are 2 traits I've been known to engage in myself every once in an extremely long while. But to top it off, she's got the trifecta of acting like she's the only one trying to discuss this issue intelligently and professionally while all others are dragging her unwillingly down into the mud, which simply is not the case at all.

Im talking about comments she has made about the owner and the management being cheap and senile. Especially the Bob Kraft appreciation thread. Many of us remember the bad old days before he bought the team, and for her to go on a that thread and call the owner Cheap and senile is totally class less. I wonder if she wasn't so hot looking in her picture if you guys would be sticking up for her? I kinda doubt it.

Have to agree there... I don't like her opinions but the hate is getting a little ridiculous. We now have two threads almost solely about Teenuh and she's really not even a troll, just more of an annoying sometimes-contrarian who comes off a little too ****y sometimes.

She's probably a teenager so we should cut her some slack anyway.

Actually, if you go back and read the threads you'll notice that nearly everyone was being both arrogant and condescending. The difference is that i didn't respond it by calling you guys names. The rest of you did. Try showing some maturity sometime guys.

I said I thought kraft was cheap but its not like its the first time someone has accused him of that. The whole "Patriots don't pay" thing has been around for a long time.

I'm pretty sure they are sticking up for me because they know you guys were wrong. It doesn't matter who was right or wrong in the whole kraft/moss debate, but how you guys behaved in the argument was childish. I didn't allow myself to sink to your level even though I had to deal with countless insults ranging from being called names to comments about wearing too much eyeliner. :lol2: That is pretty sad.

Well, some people just can't handle opinions that they don't like. I'm 21 actually and old enough to be able to discuss something without calling anyone names. As for my attitude, I give what I get.

Here is a tip: when Teenuh comes into a thread and starts totally derailing it just ignore her. In fact there is a button which lets you do that automatically! Don't bother arguing with her, as her default to any point is to throw out a red herring or strawman.

Anyway, on the Borges comment, I think Ron is starting to experience the end game of his strategy. He is has pigeon holed himself as the local nut, and he will always be there. He will watch people like Bob Ryan, Shaughnessy, Jackie MacMullan do work for national audiences, but he will always be a Boston guy. Maybe if he worried less about getting his easily biased opinion across and more about real stories he wouldn't have suffered that fate.

King ripped a player who made a last minute interception and ran with it instead of falling to the ground, only to be stripped of it by Roddy White costing his team the game......

How about a little consistency? Either it's the right move to run it or it's not. You can't have the hindsight of criticizing if he loses it but praise if he scores... I have neither the time nor the inclination to look for the original quote ( re Roddy White) but it's typical of the media....
