I'm a honey badger fan. He is not a great corner, but a very good football player. He can cover running backs and tight ends in the slot, blitz off the outside or play an excellent 3 deep coverage.

Due to his big play ability his upside is very high despite his man coverage not being consistently great.

Trade up to sign Impact-Werner.
Fellow German SeaBass will help him to Convert into Pats System in Lightning Speed. Select an WR with next pick, Brady will make EVERY 2nd or 3rd rounder shine....

You mean the way he made Brandon Tate and Taylor Price shine? Come on now, let's get serious. Brady is one of the best QBs in football but he can't polish a turd into a diamond. The Pats need to get a LOT better at evaluating and drafting wideouts for their system if they want their offensive success to continue.

True, great offense doesn't seem to translate to the playoffs but it assures you of a strong regular season and a chance for high seedning and homefield in the playoffs which helps a lot, even though it doesn't guarantee you anything.

See, I saw the exact opposite. I thought he was great playing press man but struggled a bit in zone. But he's a physical, strong corner for his size and should be able to successfully re-route slot receivers on a consistent basis. I wouldn't want him playing outside, but as a nickel corner I don't see why he wouldn't be a better option than Arrington down the line.

I would be fine with them taking Mathieu, he's a playmaker and that imo trumps the measureables. He was a dominant defender as a freshman in what is easily the best conference in college football. Like Hernandez I don't see the potsmoking as that much of an issue and believe he cares enough about football to put it behind him. It's a risk but the reward is big, he could be a turnover machine and that changes games, if he's there after the second round and they have shot at him i would be fine with them taking the shot.

To echo what a lot of posters have already said, I would be delighted with Mathieu at #91. He's a special teams stud, a nickle CB (which is essentially a starter in the league now) and a damn good football player. He has an uncanny nose for the ball and he adds a dynamic KR / PR element. I'd love him at #91!
