Think about it for a moment.
Imagine if . . .
Then again, if the Pats had gotten the roughing the punter call they should have received in the first quarter, maybe the game would have been a Pats blowout win.
But, in any case, we're here celebrating because, as my sig notes, Any Patriot, at any moment, can make a play. . . . and when he needed to, Butler did just that.
Imagine if . . .
- LaFell hadn't gone out of bounds, and had scored. That would have given Seattle an extra minute on the clock. . . . or
- Gostkowski had gone for a returnable kickoff. That would have meant no play before the two-minute warning. . . . or
- The circus catch by Kearse had fallen dead. That would have left Wilson back around the 40, still in an obvious four-down situation, still needing a touchdown. . . . or
- Ayers and Browner hadn't brought down Lynch, and he had scored on the previous play. . . . or
- Belichick takes a timeout before the pick, giving the Seahawks more time to think things through. . . . or
- Browner fails to prevent Seattle from setting the pick on Butler.
