With everyone at each other' s throats, we will have another OJ Simpson and his legal mouthpieces (Jackie Cochrane) situation; or another Al Gore and his legal mouthpieces (David Boies) situation, trying to sue his way in to the Presidency.
Does that mean we have to put up with a thuggy crook like Bush who stole elections??

ESPN has dubbed him "Commishioner Bigfoot" lol.
My vote: He's exactly what the NFL seems to need. He's decisive,he backs up his fries, and he's not only addressing important issues but he's extremely proactive in doing something about them.
He's not kidding, and the league had better be paying attention to that fact.
He's got his priorities straight too-had this trend in violence we're seeing gone unchecked or not been dealt with in a meaningful fashion the NFL would have eventually become real ugly. Hopefully he's nipping this problem in the bud, though, the Vick situation may uncover something bigger and more widespread and more ongoing than we realize.

We should judge him on the results in 12--24 months.

If "incidents" and "problems" are down and if he doesn't have to hand out many more suspensions beyond those already on most lists today (Vick et al), he'll be considered a success.

If "incidents" and "problems" continue and if the NFLPA is emboldened to challenge the suspensions in court and wins that challenge, he'll be viewed as having acted precipitously and having made the problem worse.

So, put me down as "Too early to tell."

This is like instant coffee. We are suppose to judge a guy who is in his first year againts guys that were in their jobs for 20 years?

I'll give him 5 years before I can compare.

While the vast majority of people in this country, including me, think that Bush has been a major failure, he recieved more of the votes in Florida than Gore, and it was clearly Gore who tried to rig the elections with his incessant 'recounts'. Both recounts revealed that Bush had more votes, even with the "trying to guess what the voter intended" stuff.

Hopefully you meant this as a joke, otherwise you are living in a fantasy land.

Makes me glad I didn't vote for either joker.
