Ethan Skolnick, of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, reports the Miami Dolphins have made a five-year offer to free-agent FS Antrel Rolle (Cardinals).

Forgot about that little tidbit... because he was released, he is not under contract therefore free to negotiate with any team, including the final 8.

Quick question does a player released during the offseason have to clear waivers, or that only during the season?

True for this case but irrelevant to the bigger issue of constant tampering that clearly happens every year.

Dansby to Miami looks like it's a pretty done deal. They are the only team that Carlos Dansby talked about during NFL Live a few minutes ago. He says they "have some things lined up."

Well, he did send out a memo back in 2008 telling teams not to do it. And then, showing consistent discipline, he absolutely hammered the 49ers after they were caught tampering, post-memo. Or maybe it just cost them a 5th round pick, I forget.

it generates buzz and the league does better with player movement .... so it's never going to go away.
