Hold the Mayo

Does anybody else think it's totally sick that we're debating whether Mayo is on the roster bubble? Our third string LBs would be starting for most of the league. Bostic was the leading tackler for the Bears last year and he's barely able to get playing time here, for cripes sake! #FirstWorldProblems

@NEPD_Loyko: Jerod Mayo actually looked like he had some good burst late in the 4th Q. On his pressure especially he had some explosion.

Don't write him off yet. He could provide a nice playoff boost.

Unfortunately maybe that's his role now -- a competent backup to sub in during the second half of the game when our starters and opponents starters are getting tired.

The article's core claim is that LBs in the Pats' system now need to be no-apologies pass coverers. It's as if Gary Guyton would play over Mayo, specialty packages excepted.

OK. If that's so, does that mean an RB wheel route is no longer the defense's Achilles heel?

Assuming Gary Guyton could cover...

I have never hated a player as much as I did Guyton. He sucked so bad that I wanted to rip my hair out and then let it grow so I can rip it again.
