Sure, lots of lame comparisons have been made between the NY Giants and the '01 Patriots, '05 Steelers, etc. etc.

Here is the biggest trend that no one has talked about.

Over the last four decades, there has been a dynasty in each one. Their combined record in Super Bowls.

1970s Steelers- 4-0
1980s 49ers- 4-0
1990s Cowboys- 3-0
2000s Patriots- 3-0

Combined Record: 14-0

Bottom Line: Dynasties don't lose Super Bowls. If a team is good enough to win multiple titles, they don't lose championship games. Of course, nothing is ever guaranteed, but people are acting as though the Giants have history on their side.

One other note about history on our side:

18-0

Here is my list of things that the Patriots have ensuring that they will win the Super Bowl:
  1. Tom Brady
