History came out in the neolithic draft class from the beginning of the last interglacial maybe 10,000 years ago, give or take. We could have taken agriculture or the domestication of animals, which have both been STUD abstractions compared to History, which has pretty much been the kind of abstraction that reacts to whatever's happening but doesn't make anything happen out on the field.

Obviously this was a deeper draft class than the paleolithic, but from some points of view Hand Axes have even been more useful than History. I think History was mainly drafted because nobody wanted to be known as the one who forgot it.
