Watching feeds and not a play breakdown guy, but I'm wondering? Did Bmore just blow this, or did we cleverly cause this to happen?

Wasn't even play action? ?

Weddle said he cheated coverage to try to get a jump on Brady. So I guess that was a breakdown. Hogan wasn't the number 1 read.

#33 didn't play it well, but let's say he did, without help. It's still a catch and big play IMO.

Been reading how Brady "looked off" Weddle. Got the safety to bite on the fake, Hogan got behind the coverage and Brady hit him in stride. Post game Brady said Hogan was not the primary receiver for that play. Bose Sights and Sounds video clip on NFL site showed Brady greeting Hogan on the sideline after the play saying "I hoped you'd see that". So I think the Pats saw an opportunity that the Ravens' coverage presented, and took good advantage of it.

Thanks. What a goof by ratbirds. Weddle was looking to the left? [offensive left]. Why 33 so tight with no safety help?

Thought he got caught cheating up for a fake to the right. But I could be wrong, that's from memory without reviewing the tape.

It was actually play action....

I'm pretty sure hogan converted the route, too. he probably didn't have a seam. so i guess it was a clearly vulnerable defense or they just played up in the box and he converted

They did blow it and the Pats planned for it. imo.

I posted pictures in another thread regarding this play. Earlier in the game they saw Weddle influenced by Brady's look off towards Edelman.

So I believe that McDaniels saw Weddle's reaction in the second quarter and used it in the fourth.

Brady did say excitedly to Hogan aftetwards that he was glad he "saw" it too. Makes me agree with you.

That's why BB paid D-Mac to sit back there and NOT take chances.

Initially I also thought it was just a classic blown coverage but Weddle in the MMQB interview and then BB in the belestrator cleared it up.

Berry last year in the playoffs (pump faked out by Brady on the TD pass to Gronk), Weddle here.. one would think that someone would tell those players to do their job and not try to go for glory. Brady/McD get you almost every time if you think you can cheat on your assignment..

Duh. I've been really overworked this week. This is obvious and covered on the Belestrator segment of all access.

Bigger screen indicates this was a terrible play, not just bad, by Weddle. what was he thinking? Hard to be criticizing Big bang clock by comparison there.

Maybe I should leave 90% of the field uncovered and go triple team Edelman, Nah, I think I'll *oops* too late. LOL

Thread fail on my part.
