    Jim of course, never John.

Jim Harbaugh calls for Tom Brady statue on Michigan campus after latest Super Bowl triumph

"I think it's time, don't you, for a Tom Brady statue to built right here," he said. "Right in front of Schembechler Hall, or do you put it in the stadium? Where would you put the Tom Brady statue? ... The tunnel? Maybe the tunnel? Where do you put it? Maybe some of the listeners can tell us."

Not bad for a guy forced to platoon with Drew Henson.

I’d assume a statue should be here before UM.

We need a statue of a clearly rattled Goodell handing the Lombardi trophy over. That would be epic.

Put a Brady statue on the bench watching Drew Henson play, biding his time.

Funny. When we were leaving the parade on Tue, we walked past the Bill Russell statue near Govt Ctr. I needed to explain to the kiddos who it was and why he was significant.

Me- "See this statue. Brady has 6 championships.....This guy has 11".

Them- "Is Tom Brady gonna get a statue?"

    Me- "He better."

Jim needs to worry about winning a big game at UM instead of statues

I think he is sincere but Jim knows he needs help recruiting and up-leveling the program. He knows Tom has luke-warm feelings towards the UM athletics dept and the boosters as they treated him like dog **** and hes trying to bring him back into the program's fold as their most famous alumni.

You are probably joking, but to clarify... That's overblown. He bided his time under Brian Griese.

Henson only completed 65 passes to Brady's 380 in Brady's junior & senior years, where Brady started every single game. Henson would always come in, though, especially in Brady's senior year/ Henson's sophomore year, for a series or two in the second quarter. If he did well, he might get a series or two in the second half.

By mid season Henson 1999 was getting a lot less snaps, as Brady was still better. The prize recruit Henson never found the pine completely, and this led to some doubting of TB by scouts, but in no way was it ever an equal Brady/Henson time share. It went from about a 10:1 time split to about a 4:1 time split, favoring Brady.

    1998:
    Tom Brady 200-323 passing, 61.9%, 2427 yds, 14 TDs, 10 INTS, rating 133.1
    Drew Henson 19-45 passing, 42.2%, 233 yds, 3 TDs, 1 INTs, rating 103.3

    1999:
    Tom Brady 180-295 passing, 61.0%, 2217 yds, 16 TDs, 6 INTS, rating 138.0
    Drew Henson 46-89 passing, 51.7%, 546 yds, 3 TDs, 2 INTs, rating 109.8

I would like to see this with Jonathan next to him, glaring.

Tell you what, JK doesn't have a short memory. He's gonna remember. I don;t see him so quick to keep the peace with the league.

    Harbaugh wants it for recruiting

If I was Brady, I wouldn't want it. I wouldn't care if there's one or not when I died.

But you know somewhere someday, there's gonna be Brady statues, just because of what he's done.

Thanks and I don't dispute this. Most of the journalist-written biographies of Brady make it sound like he was constantly being pushed aside for Henson, even when Brady had to come back in to win the game. Perhaps the storytelling was tilted to make for better drama.

    Edit: I "don't" dispute this.

Would be great if they did, but used the Michigan Tom Brady, not the NFL Tom Brady.

Michigan fans hated Brady at the time, so no. They can go screw themselves. Brady will always be remembered as a Patriot. No one will remember him as a Wolverine.

I am not sure Brady's exploits at Michigan are statue-worthy. Don't get me wrong, he had some great performances but it's not like we're talking about Heismans or National Championships.

Now, of course, the day is coming when statues to the man will rightfully be built here in New England.....
