And if Al Groh's kid was OK with this pick, then fire his ass too, Jonathan.
Had we taken Pickens over Thornton... Jones, Jones, Pickens, Strong, Strange. I think those 5 are gonna be really good players. Then a couple more with an outside chance of contributing. It's still a draft that will really help us but we really need to hit on a WR. Not liking this pick
Maybe. Thornton is a rookie with a QB not in the top 20. Might give him a longer lease.
Agreed it's too early to give up on him, but still figure you would have seen something more from him this year. M Jones and Strong have flashed in this offense in super limited work.
But Jones and Strong don't have Mac throwing to them. I think we have to see Thornton in Y2 with a vastly improved QB.
It's not impossible to have decent stats with Mac Jones. Look at what Pickens is doing with Trubisky and PIckett. He might not have 1000 yards but he's shown a ton. And Thornton dropping a should have been 50 yarder doesn't help the blame it all on Mac angle. Making a couple plays like that is literally all I'm really looking for to feel somewhat positive.
Agreed. It is not all on Mac. Thornton has not been impressive with his opportunities.
Having said that, when was the last time we had a WR who got off the line and 5 yards behind the CB and safety 50 yards down the field? Don't think I have seen that since Moss.
True, I like the speed. They should do more end arounds with him and try to get him in open space , that play against the Browns he made was nice. Being in this offense hasn't helped I can agree with you there
